Iowa Is Bubble Team For NIT

Wow winning @PSU and @IU are quad 1 wins. That almost makes this new metric system laughable. How are those quad 1 wins? Both team are barely above .500!

Well I hope the committee uses the eye test. No way this team deserves to be in the NCAA. Their play this entire season hasn’t warranted it. Only 1 decent win vs MICH. Lost to everyone we were supposed to lose to and beat a few by lucky shots. 300 non-conf SOS alone is worthy of a non bid.

They might get into the tourney but if they lose their next two... wow, what a disaster and it really takes the fun out of it. They needed miracles to beat NW and Rutgers or else they’d be on a huge losing streak. It’s like the collapse of the Gesell/Woodbury/Uthoff team.

Everyone is judged by the same criteria when it comes to the Quad wins. Whether you think winning on the road at Indiana or PSU is worthy of a Q1 designation is irrelevant.

And, no, an NCOS of 300+ isn’t a disqualifier for a tournament bid. You could talk me into such an idea if Iowa hadn’t won all of their non con games but, as we know, that’s a moot point.

You hope the committee uses the eye test to disqualify Iowa from the tournament? I’m going to call a spade a spade here and say that you aren’t much of an Iowa fan if you really, in your heart of hearts, hopes that happens.

Season ticket holder and sorry but this team is not worthy of ncaa invite. There are plenty of other teams more deserving.

Iowa went 11-0 and the only tough game was vs ISU. All other 10 games were vs teams in quad 2 or 3. Nice to see 5 of those 10 were against teams 300+. There are teams within 6hrs that are under 200 that we should be playing.

Iowa will finish this season with 21-11 record by losing
6 games out of last 7games.

I don’t understand the math here. We were 21 - 6. We’ve lost three in a row. We have 3 games left, if we have our last win already.

So the end would be 21 - 12, having lost the last 6.

Can you explain?

Not taking the wager, because it's a silly, non-sensical thing to consider on this board, but I will say that if they finish 0-2 and go 1-and-done in the BTT as expected, if they make the NCAA Tourney, they would be the worst team to receive an at-large bid in history, yet "making the NCAA Tourney in '19" would be on Fran's resume, earning him probably an additional 3-4 more years than he deserves.

This might be the worst post I've ever read.

Cool

So what's the foul discrepancy say the last 7 games?

Not sure what that has to do with the team sheets and Quad wins/losses but here ya go

Wisconsin 13 Iowa 25
Rutgers 27 Iowa 21
Ohio St 12 Iowa 18
Indiana 21 Iowa 18
Maryland 22 Iowa 12
Rutgers 18 Iowa 15
NW 23 Iowa 15

I thought it said stats not sheets,...thought i deleted it.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on life-support for any
post-season tournament. A 10-10 conference
record is not good. We only beat one team who
was above .500 in the conference. Beating
Michigan is not gonna cut it.
