All true except it says in the article he's not taking official visits until the fall.

Mark Hall would be the prized gem of our 2016 recruiting class, add in Suriano, Yates, and Happel combined with Marinelli and Young who is also a top 50 recruit and i'm good :)

Imagine this lineup in 2017-2018
Yates
Suriano
Happel
Sorensen
Kemerer
Marinelli
Hall
Wilcke
Holloway
Stoll

Would love to see Hall in a Hawk singlet. I honestly like our chances. Really liked his comment about how the Iowa guys are always ready to go ... Getting him to Iowa City would be huge get ... Honestly no reason why we can't get him.

I like our chances bc if you combine the fact he wants to do something special (4xer plus being undefeated) with the Hawkeye wrestling tradition; this young man understands the amount of attention he can bring to himself and the sport he loves while wrestling for Iowa!

I realize all recruits want to be a 4xer but Hall is unique. Definitely looks like the LeBron James of wrestling.

Liked everything about this comment til the end. Should be the Michael Jordan of wrestling. I don't ever remember Jordan getting to the NBA finals and losing like lebron has three times.

I don't care for Lebron but he's not playing the game by himself.

LeBron doesn't get to play with Scottie Pippen (Hall of Fame), Dennis Rodman (Hall of Fame) or Horace Grant. Nor does he get to play for Phil Jackson as a coach. The Finals argument is ridiculous in a true team sport. For some sports fans, LeBron would have been better off losing in the Eastern Conference Finals those four losses and being 2-0 in the NBA Finals rather than dragging terrible teams to the Finals. Did you see what happened when any other Cav tried to dribble for longer than 3 seconds?

Lebron won championships with Dwayne Wade (future Hall of Famer) and Chris Bosh (Future Hall of Famer). Jordan won more titles, was far better defensively, and has a better career player efficiency rating than Lebron. The cavs role players were bad the last couple of games in the finals, but they all played out of their minds up until those games. Dellavedova outplayed Derrick Rose, Thompson/Mozgov outplayed Gasol/Noah in the second round. On paper his team looks like a train wreck, but those issues really only manifested in the finals. You're being disingenuous if you suggest otherwise. Lebron had the highest usage percentage in NBA finals history, meaning that no matter what happened he was going to accumulate stats. Lebron is a top 5 player in NBA history, but anyone that says he is better than Jordan is suffering from recency bias.

Know its off season when basketball is brought up on an Iowa Hawk wrestling board

I am just happy to admit that I do not know anything about any of the people he is talking about except Lebron. Well, I know of Jordan and his teammates. I was a basketball fan when Jordan played. Quit being a fan when he retired.

But he did lose twice with bosh and wade.

Great. But again. On any NBA team there are 8-9 guys getting the bulk of the PT. Again, I generally do not like Lebron but I SMH when people assign championships or failures in team sports to the individual, especially the latter when the individual plays well. As if they would have even been competitive in the finals without him.

Oh hey is this a thread about Mark Hall? I sure hope he trains for national championships in Iowa city!

Besides I don't like LeBron. Too much drama on and off the court. Always makes sure everybody knows when he's ailing, flops and has shriveled up in some big moments. When he left Cleveland he let it drag out and made a production of it just crushing all the King James minions. Then when he went back he did the same to a lesser degree and had Miami draft a guy he wanted them to when he knew he was bolting. He didn't go back to Cleveland because he wanted to go home, his motivation was losing in the finals 2x with Miami and what he thought was a better situation with the Cavs. He neuters coaches and is a bad leader... I could go on and on....

All that being said, physically he is the greatest athlete to play bball... but he aint no Jordan.

Back on topic. Hall's comments seem to rule out Okie St, ASU and PSU. I thought they were all legit possibilities before.

honest question who would you rather sign next year, hall or( suriano and happel).I know it is not a mutually exclusive thing, just wondering.

Hall. He would be a magnet for other uppers. Love both Suriano and Happel but we don't need them. Last title we got from an upper was in 2010. Plus, he and Marinelli would be great in the room together.

Definitely Hall..... Turk will end up being a very good 141 for us which offsets Happel. Suriano is very good also but Mejia and Renteria aren't far behind him and will be here the next year. Hall would be a HUGE get for our program.
