I think you have a good team. Turnovers spoiled your chances but as I saw it 2 teams with very good defenses played a really close game. I might be wrong but I will not be surprised if Iowa wins out. I don't think MSU is going to win out with MI, OSU and Ped State yet to play but Iowa may win out. Good luck.

Ha ha hah ha ha ha ha . Sparty isn't that good, they just sucked less than Iowa today.
The season is lost. Atleast tickets will be cheap and you can move up into better open seats on the stands.
I'll drop back later in the season, I think you're going to have a good one yet.
Sparty has some nice looking young receivers and a solid D. However, I did not see a playmaking running back that I am used to you guys having, which may limit your success against the big 3 left on your schedule. Good game and good luck the rest of the way. Our offense has to get much more consistent and we could have a good finish.
Our offense is not the problem, our head coach and OC are. We are solid at TE, WR, RB, and QB. What we are awful at is play calling and scheming for opponents putting 8 guys in the box. Throw the ball 5, 10, 15 times in a row. Use up temp, something, anything, vs. 3 and out inside our 20 for the first 6 possessions. Throw it deep and if gets picked, it will likely be better than our punter shanking 20 yarders. Game today could have easily been 40-10 had the D not stepped up time and time again (sound familiar, oh yeah, same theme last week).
Ill be the unpopular one that agrees with you (About the game at least). Without that horrible turnover where Stanley just lost the ball, the game is tied. We are moving in for at least a fg attempt and Smith fumbles his second career catch. I really thought we had an excellent chance to win. We held MSU to 0 second half points.
I was impressed with MSU's d line and pressure. Your offense needs to improve a bit, especially the run game. However, you game planned enough to find some big gaps to sit in with your WRs and TE. Nice game today, well deserved win.
I get the feeling the play callers are heavily oppseded to airing it out like that Ihawk.. that would put the other teams brain trust in a state of shock! Even thou I kid.. I do think the pass needs to be used more and they need to use AW like a Marshall Faulk type, line him up any and every where!

Call me crazy especially for me but I agree with this guy. GL the rest of the way. Iowa has the talent. First tough road test for a young offense.

Thank you. I'm not sure what to make of this team. Seems there are some pretty big issues, hopefully they can be fixed as the season goes on.

I agree that the playcalling and scheming for opponents sucks but teams are always going to put 8-9 in the box regardless until Stanley can connect on passes downfield. He consistently overthrows the WR by 5 yards on the deep ball. He's Nate Chandler Jr.
No doubt he has missed some guys on deep balls, but so do other quarterbacks. The difference is that we take 1-2 shots per games and others take 6+. Stanley is under intense pressure on short throws, not to mention deep balls. No reason we don't give Marsette 3-4 throws per game. The guy has great hands and is one of the few on the team that understand how to adjust to the throw.
I agree that he has to put some air under the ball to give our guy a shot, but when can't run and are constantly in 3rd and long situations, the element of surprise the passing game needs to bust big plays is negated.

I highly doubt we win the next six. There are no gimmes left. After watching both Purdue and Minnesota play twice each this year, I think we have a better chance at beating Minny. (A reversal of my preseason thinking). They play a very similar game to us and if we can tighten up our run defense, we should be able to bring Floyd home again. Purdue on the other hand scares me more. A much more diversified offense and they play the run well.
Wisconsin in Madison is a huge order for this team and IMO, we have no shot at tOSU. We are still going to struggle to get six wins. Nebby doesn't scare me much but, it is in Lincoln. It will be a dogfight and could well need it to get our six wins.

I actually think we have 6 wins at the end of this month.. northwestern makes me nervous because it is at their place, but I think iowa takes them.. Minnesota isn't looking good.. then yes we have Wisconsin osu Purdue and Nebraska which is looking like a tall order if things start to swing badly.. I think we take 2 out of the final 4 and end 8-4 but could see 7-5
I think we have a great shot at NW and Minny. If we don't get both of them, it will be nail biting time for six wins.
