Win out? Nah, but i really think this team can still win 9. I think Iowa wins their next three, with the headliner of OSU at night. Drops Wisconsin by about 10 points, then beats Purdue & Nebraska to end the year.

The reason is because at some point last week (think maybe Tuesday presser) Ferentz compared this year to 2008. Started rough but really clicked in October/November to have a really nice season. It takes a lot for him to get that excited mid season, but it caught my eye as he thinks this team can have a pretty good year.

If we’re going to compare this team to others, in a string about winning out, then let’s go with 2004.

That team won its last 7 B1G games, including against WI and OSU, which the 2017 version must do as well. The 2004 and 2017 teams both have 1st year starting QBs and good defenses (2004 was elite, and that may be the dispositive difference between the two).

Do I think we’ll win the rest of them this year? No, but I didn’t give it much of a chance in 2004 either.

I highly doubt we win the next six. There are no gimmes left. After watching both Purdue and Minnesota play twice each this year, I think we have a better chance at beating Minny. (A reversal of my preseason thinking). They play a very similar game to us and if we can tighten up our run defense, we should be able to bring Floyd home again. Purdue on the other hand scares me more. A much more diversified offense and they play the run well.

Wisconsin in Madison is a huge order for this team and IMO, we have no shot at tOSU. We are still going to struggle to get six wins. Nebby doesn't scare me much but, it is in Lincoln. It will be a dogfight and could well need it to get our six wins.

The game with OSU is not in the shoe. It will probably be a night blackout game, Nov 4th in Kinnick. A lot can happen with both teams in the next month, but I'd expect another great game. Unless Barkley shows up to play for the bucknuts, I think we'll have a shot.

I think you have a good team. Turnovers spoiled your chances but as I saw it 2 teams with very good defenses played a really close game. I might be wrong but I will not be surprised if Iowa wins out. I don't think MSU is going to win out with MI, OSU and Ped State yet to play but Iowa may win out. Good luck.

And they could lose every game. Probably somewhere in between. At least 2 more loses.
