Perhaps one of the best unheralded series in Big Ten football? No trophy, but a lot of big games between the two over the last 30-40 years. This, obviously, being the biggest ever. Whatever with the nonsense that will be posted about Dantonio over the next week (compare our U to theirs and we're talking about glass houses, let's just enjoy this without getting pissy) . He's built a respectable (and very successful) program. This is a great opportunity for both teams. Both teams have similar philosophies on offense (balanced play-calling, emphasis on establishing a running game between the tackles). Both have similar looks on defense (MSU a little more blitz-happy [at least before this year, haven't seen much of them this year]). We saw Iowa blitz quite a bit more against Nebraska. Can our defensive staff dial up some timely aggressive calls? Can we figure out how to get off the field more often on third down?

MSU has the most professional, calm, and respectful coaches ever. He is the definition of integrity. Imagine the stress the guy has had to endure over the years with injuries during crunch time. Luckily the players were able to recover within a play.
It is more fun to talk shit, I agree. But, Pierre Pierce, Brian Ferentz in section 8 (though I do like the idea of having a coach who knows how to exploit the rules as they get more ridiculous).

Pierre Pierce was never a member of the Iowa football team. Iowa has had a couple Pierre Pierce-esque incidents on the football team under KF, and those players were gone shortly after. If one of Dantonio's players gets arrested for armed robbery he is pissed the guy got caught. Big difference between Ferentz and Dantonio.

He was making a joke about allegations of MSU defenders faking injuries during crucial moments of games. Allegations made by fellow internet-subscribers who sometimes post videos as evidence for their claims. You can use google to find those if you like.
yeah, and Iowa was trying to come from behind with a hurried offense when Michigan State came down with their rash of player injuries. I would question if those injuries wouldn't have happened if the situation was different
We wont have to worry about that this year, as Iowa won't have to come from behind so they won't need to slow down the offense.
