Looks like Kuebel, Dermody, and TBA for Iowa....hmmm....

Depending on what happens Friday and Saturday I say Iowa goes by committee if possible on Sunday and give Ricky Sandquist the start and let Hanse and Hibbing get some work. If Iowa can win a game on Fri/Sat and the series is up for grabs and Taylor Kaufman has not thrown much, then start him.

Nebraska will probably start Christian Deleon on Friday who has been dealing at times this year. Nebraska won 2/3 games last year after coming back in the last two innings being down 8-4 on Eastern Sunday in a loss that really stung.

Nebraska and Iowa have had some weird games in the past including a 14 inning game in Iowa City when Nebraska was a top ten team and Iowa was putrid. Nebraska leading Iowa 8-1 in Florida and Iowa coming back to win 12-8 in the last two innings.

Nebraska leads the all time series 14-10.

I'd say Sunday all depends on how the first two games play out. If Sasha and Dermody are able to go deep in their respective starts I'd guess Sandquist would start Sunday. But it could just as easily be Kaufman. That third spot is very much up in the air.

You're right.........it has been a quirky series.

Nebraska wins 12-5 in game one. Iowa and Nebraska both had 13 hits, Iowa just couldn't get timely base hits. I think Sasha Kuebel is in a sophomore slump as he went 5 innings and allowed 8 earned runs.

Iowa loses the series to Nebraska as Nebby took 2 games. Nebraska won on Saturday 12-8 in a game where Iowa couldn't hold on to any lead they got.

Iowa did win today by a score of 6-5 over Nebraska. Andrew Hanse threw a pretty good game. Ricky Sandquist closed it out, it did get interested in the Top 9th as Nebby loaded the bases with no outs and did score two runs to make it 6-5. Iowa got a huge double play to end the game.

Iowa is 2-7 in B10 play right now.
