Per his Twitter Iowa has offered, along with numerous other power 5 schools showing high interest. Interesting development as Fran just said next year’s team was set. Wur did de-commit from the juco route so I wonder if it had something to do with grades. Based on his highlights and interest I would think he would have no interest in juco...

We could use another point - center after losing Cook. ;)
Let’s be serious... This dude has better handles right now than Cook He will never match Cook physically and athletically though. Makes you wonder if Fran is offering him he must really think JW might leave after next year. Wur sort of fits the Fran mold? Maybe? I mean I would definitely take him!

His ACTs were too low but he got them to passable.
Ah makes sense. I figured it was something like that. I always hated standardized tests and the ACT. Had a 4.0 every year and all through high school but never got an ACT score above 23. Still graduated from University of Iowa with honors. It would be great if Lök ended up in Iowa City as we could always use some athleticism like he had. I’m assuming he is from Sudan? When he tweeted out he received an offer from Iowa one of his pictures was Peter Jok

Go get him Fran!! He looks to be on average the best of peter jok & nick baer.. he might even still grow an inch or two.. that was a pretty impressive highlight reel, he’s plays aggressive on both ends. That’s nothin but nice right there. And I believe it’s Lök Wur not Mur..

That’s an impressive tape. Better handle than Cook indeed. Obviously a good shooter as well for his size. Not as powerfully explosive as Cook but maybe quicker with explosion of his own. Looks like he can block a shot or two as well. I definitely understand the P5 interest. Wur would be a fantastic get!

He is not a good shooter as of yet.

Look amazing - would be a great get

Definitely a lot of upside there. This time of year a guy like this will garner a lot of interest as there aren't that many good talents unaccounted for and schools (like Iowa) do have a scholarship or 2 open that they would love to fill with a good player.

According to this article he see's himself as a guard...or having guard skills that he wants to be able to use on day 1. Another answer to the loss of Isaiah Moss? That's not what I was thinking when I saw the video and it appears that his shot needs to improve in terms of consistency.

This article also did not mention Iowa anywhere in it.....not sure if that is due to timing or what.

Guessing it was timing. The article is dated yesterday and Lur tweeted about getting the Iowa offer at about 8 PM last night.

Was expecting this to be a Williams or Dailey type offer but I was wrong. Hopefully Fran can get this kid, fairly tough competition though.

Not gonna get my hopes up that Fran lands this kid, but we are fairly close to home, play an up-tempo style (which he said is something he's looking for), have an open scholarship and could really use another talented wing. So I think Iowa would be an attractive offer for him. Wouldn't surprise me if he scheduled a visit to Iowa City in the coming weeks.

Coming weeks? I assume he is going to decide rather quickly so he can get on campus wherever he ends up.

Not sure about the kid's expectations or off court stuff, but he definitely has huge potential. I would want to know whether he can fit his skills into a team concept. There will probably be some stiff competition to land him.

Coming weeks would be rather quickly, IMO. He's got a lot of offers on the table and will want to take visits to his top choices, at least a handful of schools. That's going to take time.

EDIT: I meant that the visit itself would take place in the coming weeks, not that in a couple weeks he will schedule a visit.

Offer list is not that impressive. Makes you wonder why most bigger programs aren't heavily involved in recruiting him.
Wur just barely qualified to go to 4-year and not Junior College. So, I’m thinking grades maybe giving some pause. I’ve heard he was Sudanese and admires Peter Jok. That connection might be why Fran thought an offer might be worthwhile.

I think Fran is a little more choosy regarding off-court issues than most coaches, but maybe he has done his due diligence. Even this late, Wur's tape should garner lots of attention.

So, he's a 6' 9" guard? Quick, looks like he can cover the floor in about 5 steps, long arms - defensive disrupter and rebounder, athletic, can probably play all 5 spots on the floor. Yes, please!

Personally, I'm not that concerned about his shooting ability - the Hawks have lots of guys that can shoot. Hopefully he can really mess-up opposing shooters! If he's anything like Peter Jok, I hope Fran can land him.

Looks like the type of kid that could be a beastly 4 year player and I agree with whoever said he is Pascal siakim like. Honestly seems like the type of player Villanova would have that is unstoppable as a senior

We need to forget the notion of the ‘4 year player’ with the current environment for transferring. Some guys might stick 4 years but don’t count on it now.
