Is this a typo? I assumed they meant academic, but he was 1st team academic... can someone explain this?

Second-Team All-Big 12 selection … First-Team Academic All-Big 12 … played in all 13 games, starting nine games at tight end … tallied four receptions for 39 yards … had a reception vs. Iowa, Texas, Kansas and West Virginia … had a career-long 13-yard reception vs. West Virginia.

The explanation is that the Big 12 is enamored with the fast paced spread offense, so TE usage is limited

I looked. A guy from Kansas was also 2nd team.

The one he made it on the 1st team has 13 offensive players and 2nd team had 15 guys including 4 wr and 2 te.
