i just think its one of those classic things where Ark Little Rock left everything on the court in today's 2OT win and won't have much fight left for that powerful Big 12 team, THE Iowa State Cyclones!

Play the team with horrible guards or play the team that beat them? They would have got us on the boards but they wouldn't have been able to match up with us. Painter would be sweating trying to defend Burton or Niang with his bigs.

Agreed. Napier and Boatright beat a better ISU team in the Sweet 16 a couple of years ago. I can't remember but I assume Morris/BDJ/Naz Long were better than anything UAB put on the court?

A true Cyclone fan never counts a win before the game has been played. Seen too many games. Seen ISU lose in too many ways. Hell, even today I didnt feel comfortable until Iona backed off with <1 minute left.
Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.

Are you an isu fan in disguise? Your obsession with isu is odd to say the least. Who gives a #%^*. You have numerous threads on isu, and are baffled why so many isu fans are on this site. Seriously, stop.
ISU by 20+. ARK LR took advantage of Purdue's ineptitude (late game Iowa'esque) and low basketball IQ. Combine that with the white haired refs bizarre whistles and some ridiculous made shots down the stretch like a the back iron bounce up in the air then through the hoop 3 ball, the off balance 25 foot hand in face 3 ball with shot clock expiring and the side fade away skimmed glass never meant for it to draw glass 2. Those kinds of shots never fall for cinderalla in game 2.

I guarantee that you and the rest of clown nation were cheering for Little Rock. I'm pretty sure I saw an ISU fan on TV actually dab after a Little Rock basket in overtime.

It will not be close. Purdue blew a 14 point lead with under 4 mins to play. ISU will not do that. Jay Williams is just promoting a cinderella matchup.

I think I have been on an Iowa St site less than 5 times ever.
To make a run in the NCAAs you have to have talent and it helps to catch breaks. Avoiding Purdue's size is a break. However, Little Rock won't roll over and die either. ISU will need its A-game.
Definitely easier than most, but all we heard from Sunday until yesterday morning was how Iona was going to upset ISU....now the narrative changes. Funny.
I definitely get ISU fans being happy to play a 12 seed instead of a 5 but I was pretty excited to watch Purdue have to try to match up with us. I thought we'd lose in the Sweet 16 to Virginia regardless of who we had to play to get there but was confident we'd beat Purdue pretty easily if we had the opportunity
ISU will beat ARK LR like a drum with a C game. That team sucks. Purdue absolutely choked it away and Painter got completely got out-coached. He went small at the end of the game and both OTs never getting the ball inside to Hammonds? Swannigan & Haas are on the bench the last 14 minutes when you need a single bucket to pull it out. Go big genius out of a timeout and make them pay for doubling Hammonds. You could have had a massive size advantage and failed to use it when all you needed was a bucket to win several times. It was like watching us late game.

Purdue, like Iowa, has very limited guard play. When they needed a basket, their guards could not deliver and their offense went stagnant. What a choke job....should have known better than to pick them past ISU, but I thought their size would cause problems. Clearly not. Their play in the last few minutes of regulation was brutal.
They'll get to the Sweet 16, but that's saying nothing based on who stands in their way. Iona and Little Rock?

ISU has had their years of tough roads to try to get to the sweet 16 as well.
One year they were the 3 and North Carolina was the 6 (albeit less than the average UNC team)
couple years back it was Notre Dame then Ohio State before that was UConn then Kentucky.
Gotta take advantage of what you're given. The way Virginia looks, ISU better be rooting for Butler.
