Iowa and Oklahoma St. will be wrestling this year at a neutral site as a part of some kind of event. Date yet to be determined.

2/12/22 is the date, site TBD. Cody Goodwin is saying Globe Life Field, Rangers ballpark.
Maybe out of the blocks a little early on this one, but possibly some exhibition NCAA women’s wrestling matches? A good way to provide excitement for the women’s program, it will be a great crowd. Go Hawks.
The Dome at America Center would be better.

My pull must be deminishing. I wanted it closer. It will take me 15 minutes to get there.
Globe field is confirmed. It will be interesting to see what the attendance figures are for the dual, venue layout and the card for additional matches.
Kudos to Brands and Smith for for promoting wrestling in Texas. Wrestling out west seems to be losing momentum, Texas is a great place to build it back.

Expectations are that it will be the top wrestlers for each country competing:
Both the US and Iran have top contenders at each weight now and Iran has a tremendous fan base this is going to be intense.
Why give it to Flo? Let ESPN have the rights so more people will be able to watch…..if one of the objectives is to grow the sport.

Just saw that they are running both the freestyle and college duals at the same time, so probably not an option.
That doesn’t make sense to me. These two duals should be run linearly, not in parallel where they will compete with one another. I’m hoping this is not the case.
Found some good news on this event:
The Oklahoma State - Iowa collegiate meet and the United States-Iran exhibition meet will take place simultaneously beginning at 6:30 p.m. on February 12 with bouts from the two competitions alternating throughout the event on two different mats. This will mark the first time a senior-level international meet and an NCAA meet will operate in this format.

Wow…this might be worth a trip down there. A lot of real cool “get out of town” options for Hawk fans.

Last year was snow and ice and power out which is rare but usually the weather is not too bad
Also there is a hotel next to the stadium and Texas live which is a nice sport bar right there too

Not ideal in my eyes. I don't anticipate that the team score with Ok. State will be that close, so that helps. If this took place against PSU, I would be a little more upset.
That being said, if alternating matches/sharing duals is what it takes to get US vs the World freestyle matches going again, I'm all for it!
