The national media acts does not seem to recognize why we beat Ohio State, their comments act like it was a fluke.

Jerome Jackson and Josey Jewell are consensus All Americans.
Their linebackers could not match our tight ends.
Ohio State backs could not defend against our quarterback Stanley.
Our special team coaches have developed our players on kick off coverage so Ohio State had bad field position after our many touchdowns.
Our defensive co-ordinator Phil Parker had our defensive backs positioned so they would not screw
up like Wisconsin did with their players leaving their positions and allowing those long runs by Ohio State.

Ehhh I don't know. I have a really hard time believing if we played OSU again, the outcome would be the same. I'm leaning more towards fluke. We played great that night though, no doubt. But we didn't play at that level any other time in the season.

The game plan both Offensively and Defensively was pretty decent that night.

Oh wait...the brain trust that is Hawkeye Report free board have determined that these victories are examples of the players winning despite of the coaches.

If the coaches had any brains they would just use the OSU game plan in all remaining games. Sound about right??

You win and lose as a team, or else you don't have a team

I agree totally, except for the PSU game. We played with a lot of energy and grit that night as well...

If Iowa can run the ball on you, you are in trouble because passing will follow. I think the young tackles had issues when teams loaded the box in executing the blocking schemes. OSU thought they didn't need to do that with the stud dline. It didn't work out for them. I think BF struggled with the balance of establishing the run and breaking tendencies. I have high hopes for him and think he will improve next year.

Ok.......but who in da funk is Jerome Jackson?
