Big spread..but looking at the two teams physically, it seems to be a mismatch.Seems extreme, maybe not?
SC is better, faster, more athletic and MUCH bigger in the post at every position. They will pressure CC all over the floor, let her get her pts but will be in the grill of everyone of our catch and shoot players. Our inability to put the ball on the floor and go by people and our post players lack of strength and mobility against 2 taller post defenders makes this a darn near impossible matchup/task. This SC team is 30pts better than us and I'd love to have egg on my face however this matchup favors us no where. This is an over achieving squad of outstanding girls but we've hit the wall.

Nice reverse jinx!
They are a good team but most teams have kept up with SC until the 4th quarter when fouls start to add up. This will be determined a lot by the refs. What is called and what is not. There was twice where on a rebound the SC player flung the Maryland player and no foul, then they would call a tick tack body touch or hand check on Maryland. Now, to me it appears the shooters had some open looks, much better than what Clark gets most games. The issue will be rebounding. The other is we need to get one of the big girls from SC into early foul trouble. If you can achieve that, it will balance the situation a bit. We are going to give up offensive rebounds, its a guarantee, we just have to manage to keep them to a reasonable number.
The other thing is, I still haven't seen SC in a close game this year at the end of the game. If you can get them in unfamiliar territory how do they react. The Hawks have a 15-20% chance of winning. They need some things to go their way, but they have a chance.
Agree. South Carolina is VERY physical. Some would say thuggish, but that's probably more appropriate when applied to LSU.Our gals absolutely have a chance, but they have to play a nearly perfect game, and I'm guessing they know it.
The "role players" will have to hit their shots and contribute---like they have been recently.
The subs will have to provide meaningful minutes--like they have been recently.
Everyone will have to bust their butts for all 40 minutes, going after every rebound, every loose ball, and put a body on someone on every shot.
The refs will have to call a good, fair game--like they pretty much never have in any women's game I've ever seen.
The intangibles will have to break our way significantly.
I'd say it's appropriate for both. When you have so much jawing that the officials have to stop the game and go to the captains to tell the teams to cool it.....Agree. South Carolina is VERY physical. Some would say thuggish, but that's probably more appropriate when applied to LSU.
Clark’s gestures you can bet will have SC defense fired up.I'd say it's appropriate for both. When you have so much jawing that the officials have to stop the game and go to the captains to tell the teams to cool it.....
My guess is she takes at least one hard/flagrant foul.Clark’s gestures you can bet will have SC defense fired up.
I can't stand officiating in basketball, for what you explained, the inconsistencies. They are a good team but most teams have kept up with SC until the 4th quarter when fouls start to add up. So Iowa has beaten Maryland and Maryland just lost by 10ish to SC, and somehow SC is 30 points better than Iowa? Just remember, they didn't build all of those palaces out in Vegas because they are unobjective fans.SC is better, faster, more athletic and MUCH bigger in the post at every position. But that's exactly what the O/U is: 149.5. With the line at 11.5, that translates into 80-69.I think the under for total pts is the best bet. I don't see Iowa putting up 85 on South Carolina's defense. I also don't see Iowa losing by 20. 75-70ish type game
and Md beat us by almost 30. Are we better than Md or did we play incredible at their place? how do ya combat what I already alluded to? Offensively this is going to be like playing in a phone booth. On either end how do we keep 6'4 and 6'7 off the glass? Who wins the possession game will be in the drivers seat.So Iowa has beaten Maryland and Maryland just lost by 10ish to SC, and somehow SC is 30 points better than Iowa? Interesting. Not that everyone thinks we’ll win but more that they think it’ll be close.South Carolina now -11 as of 6:00 pm Eastern
Simple question - do you think you know more than people who build palaces in Vegas for a living? That’s how gamblers go broke.and Md beat us by almost 30. Actually we beat Maryland twice, 14 at HCA and 5 at Minneapolis...and Md beat us by almost 30. Can't disagree but WBB and CBS/ESPN need Caitlin on TV, and Vegas doesn't win every time.Simple question - do you think you know more than people who build palaces in Vegas for a living? That’s how gamblers go broke.
They don't need to and don't expect to. It's all about get 50% on one side and 50% and the other and collecting the juice. I'm simply saying there is no way in hell South Carolina is 30 points better than Iowa and Vegas knows what they're doing by setting the line at 11 1/2. And if you are saying TV will influence the outcome and who is to say it won't, then take Iowa and the points. I am.Can't disagree but WBB and CBS/ESPN need Caitlin on TV, and Vegas doesn't win every time.
