If you can get out to Duane Banks and support Iowa. Really need to take this series. I see on Friday if you buy four tickets you get $10 in concessions.

This is a big series for regionals and conference.

It’s almost unbelievable how easy there schedule has been during this win streak. With that said, you know baseball and you don’t just win 20-some games in a row without being good. We know we will get good outings from Allgeyer and McDonald but we need Schanuel to stop giving up free bases. I think Iowa has a chance to sweep if that happens. But I’ll be really happy with winning the series.

Really good crowd tonight at a windy Banks Field tonight. I think they announced 1,650 in attendance. Should be a better crowd tomorrow to see they Hawks take another one from Michigan!

Iowa wins!!!

Huge to get Game 1. Iowa's tough conference schedule this year made it nearly impossible to win the conference regular season title. The worst conference team Iowa will have played this far into the season is Nebraska. Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan. Indiana. Basically every good team in the league.

Flip side of that is playing that many good teams has kept Iowa's RPI high enough to be in the at-large consideration for NCAA tournament. A series win against Michigan would be huge to Iowa's NCAA chances and help position for Big 10 tournament. Last 2 weeks of conference play against Penn State and Northwestern Iowa finally gets a shot at playing against the bottom of the league.

Michigan's schedule to date has been incredibly bad. Teams 11, 12, 13 and 7 in the league standings.
