Iowa vs. SDSU

GIlman, during the handshakes, ran directly to the SDSU bench. The SDSU 125 was walking to the middle, and he just proceeded to the middle to wait. Gilman shook...somebody's hand, couldn't see who. And then he just ran back to the Iowa side and ignored the SDSU wrestler.

Sorensen up 4-2 early, two nice TDs.

Sorenson wastes the second period by doing virtually nothing. Kocer out quickly and he's in quickly. Brief scramble, and he has the TD! 5-5 in the third!

Sorenson with a reversal off a Kocer tilt attempt! WOo! Kocer gets ridden out, tries a late roll and Sorenson catches him for a secon to sneak two backpoints. 9-5 Sorenson win, but it was very close. SOrenson looked like he was going to cruise early, but then he stopped moving. Kemdwag Millionaire coming up!

Holler in deep on a leg. Kemerer with a crazy scramble, and suddenly he's in on the leg. Two Kem! Kem cuts him and we're neutral, 2-1 in the first.

Kem working the head, but not a whole lot of shooting. A little surprising given what we've seen from Kem. Holler gets in for a second but Kem stuffs it easily. 2-1 going into the second. Kem escapes quickly.

Another empty second period. Kemerer is shockingly doing very little shooting. As in none. Two reshots so far.

Wonder if he shook the hand of Gross?

Kem finally takes a committed shot in the 3rd and scores easily. QUick cut, then a go behind. 7-3 for Kemerer. I have to be honest, that was disappointing lack of offense. Gunther out for Iowa.

not an impressive showing so far. Match is on FLO for those with subscriptions.

One of the Never-ending Supply of Zilverbergs out here with Gunther.

I was hoping McD would go with the term, "wizard," but there is only one Mark Ironside.

I don't know how to describe Gunther's TD other than he was working a whizzer, and then he just let it go and threw Zilverberg past him. Not technical, but effective.

Z with a nice shot, gets a TD when the hands touch. Gunther is out immediately. They're in another scramble situation and again Gunther just gorillas him for a TD. Z was in deep, and Gunther just kind of outhorsed him and made the TD his own. He did have to defend a scramble a bit.

They dance a bit, but nobody ever gets close to scoring. Gunther wins 6-4.

McD: I can tell how tough it must be for ironside to just sit here without screaming and yelling at the action on the mat.

Grace: I'm lucky to not know much about the sport so I can just sit here and comment on the action.

Meyer escapes quickly.

Meyer attempts a trip off the Russian tie. No go, but an attempt! PROGRESS!

Kocer gets in deep, and meyer deservedly hit for stalling, but Meyer is countering the TD. Meyer now in the better position and Kocer almost gives up backpoints to boot! 3-0 Meyer as he rides out the period.

Kocer picks bottom, and 2 minutes later, he's stayed there the whole time. Meyer got hit with stalling again while riding, but I felt that was undeserved. Meyer had just gotten the arm underneath the body. 4-1 Meyer win. Apparently the coaches were having some fun in the corner, couldn't see much other than one of the Brands encouraging the crowd to boo.

Flo's scoreboard is messed up, but Brooks is here for some offense, finally!

This kid is outmatched, but Brooks is still putting it on him! 14-4 after 1. A bunch of different TDs, most from uipperbody ties, and his infamous cross wrist tilt.

Hawks up 17-0,

Wilcke up 4-3 but riding time against him. Roder chooses down start 3rd

Roder with td from bodylock, wilcke gave it ip instead of taking chance on getting thrown to back , 9-5

Cash is clearly a little light for the weight, but what a battle. I actually thought he was going to get that slide by.

Too many stalls against Iowa.
