I really don’t care what a lot of people think. Because unlike you I don’t seek others approval of me.
Hell I thought only Betts would have made a difference, for both yesterday and tomorrow. Morrow would have made a bigger difference on this last season.

Notre Dame is in the running for a lot of Iowa's top targets for the 2026 class.
It will be interesting to see if this mini exodus impacts their decisions at all.
You could make an argument that it clears the runway for a lot of early playing time on the other hand if the rumors of locker room drama with a certain star player are true it might take them out of the running.

Was thinking the same thing today. Hopefully it sways them away, but you can bet ND will be knocking on their doors twice as loud.

Frankly Iowa also has a lot of playing time available for the 2026 class. Harpring would walk into the starting lineup. Bjorn or Woliczko probably would too at the 4 when Stuelke graduates. Lewis or Kussow could also have a good shot to start with McCabe and Feuerbach both graduating depending on what Iowa does in the portal.
Iowa's selling point to them is both that they can play right away and that they have good pieces like Deal and Heiden plus role pieces like Stremlow and Mallegni to make a run right away.
I know somebody who goes to school with Lewis who said he was told there is zero chance she ends up at Iowa....take it for whatever it is worth...
I want woliczo the most. But if lewis doesn't want to come whatever. I just hope we have backups in case this doesn't work out. We're really reaching in this class.
I did see an interview of lewis where their was something said about ya come to iowa be the next cc and she was like no. Im my own person. Idk I'm not going to look up the interview.
That interview was from two years ago. She wasn't dismissing Iowa. She could go back and forth from there---like any young person making big decisions.
You hope for 1 of 8 or so. Maybe they get two, but there will be some disappointments in that process, for sure.
Yup and with how the year went it could really go either way, they could get 1-2 maybe 3 of they could strike out on all and be left hanging with no good backup options....which will really kill any momentum CC created
Get one of Lewis/Kussow and one of Woliczko/Bjorn and the starting lineup is stacked with premium talent starting in the 2026-2027 season. Plus players like Stremlow and Mallegni should be experienced rotation players at that point. Assuming they find a solution at PG that could be a team with real potential to make a run. I still thing Harpring is a long shot, but if she were to come all of a sudden that's a really dangerous team.
Re Lewis: I don't have insight on her thinking. That said, we haven't seen Iowa pivot to secondary options at the 2 position yet. When it was clear Greenway wasn't coming we did see that. For the moment, it sure seems like the coaches think they have a decent shot with one of Lewis or Kussow.

if she can shoot she has potential. Her shooting from three this year was beyond poor. 13/57 from three and i'm pretty sure a few of those were banked. Take out Drake and Purdue games and she was 8/47 17%.
She better put up 500 threes a day this summer/offseason.
Think a lot of it is she needs to get set before launching. She’s not great at getting it off quick enough while having both her feet set.
Teagon is a very impressive shooter in warm ups. It will translate to game action if everyone stays patient. She has the potential to be a difference maker long shooter.
JJ has already said she shoots a high percentage in practice of her threes. Now let’s bring it to the game.
She needs to speed her body up to slow the game down. Weight room, weight room, weight room.
Didn’t Fran say the same thing about Josh Ogelsby? He was a great practice shooter but it never transferred to games. I hope she makes the transition to games.
I could be crazy, I admit, but I think she is one of those players where her skill is so well developed that it disguises her athletic potential. I wouldn’t be surprised if another 1 or 2 years she looks like a completely different person on the court and one of the best athletes on the team.
When you watch her she never really looks like she is trying. Like she’s going through the motions. Yet somehow, she’s still moving with a certain ease and dexterity. Like someone who still hasn’t caught up to her height or body. I remember one random attempt of hers to dive for a ball and she looked like the most explosive athlete on the court for that .5 seconds.
Remember how Garza sometimes would look like he was running at 110% effort but still somehow just wasn’t that fast down the court? Just watch her run. It’s kind of the opposite. It looks so effortless that you’re tricked into thinking she’s running slower than she is but she’s actually faster than you would initially guess.
I think it jives with what you’re saying about going too fast in games.
I know you said "FWIW". If this somebody goes to school with Lewis, then he's a high school kid. What I'd like to know is who told him this? Some other kid who sat next to one of Lewis' friends in history class last year? She may very well go elsewhere but this one bit of info doesn't have me worried.
There are so many conflicting reports on Lewis that I don’t think anyone knows what the hell to believe. The way I feel now, If she becomes a Hawk great, If not Oh well. Don’t get me wrong I hope the Hawks get her but IMO she isn’t a make or break piece of the 26 class.
If Lewis wanted to be a Hawk she would have committed already. She wants out of state and I hope she gets her way. I am tired of the drama surrounding Lewis. I saw her play and wasn’t thinking she’s a must have.
