Iowa will be in the Big Ten Championship game in a rematch against Ohio State.

So we can watch KF turtle up like its going out of style and the Hawks can lose by 28+ again??

Nope. Not a chance.

Captain Kirk-servative cant get out of his own way and put a dynamic QB, and therefore a dynamic offense on the field.

The defense and special teams aren't good enough this year to pull off seven one score wins with this team and this schedule.

With that kind of conviction, you should place some bets and buy your tickets to the big game. Enjoy.

We lost to a vastly superior team. Not the end of the world but anyone that would want to be in a B1G Championship after this display needs their head checked. Iowa was lucky to only lose 35-7 and we all know it. The game should've been at least 21-0 at half if OSU didn't get in their own way. I don't want to get embarrassed again and we would based on the last few games against top competition.

Agree 100%. OSU's biggest weakness over the last 2 to 3 years has been their OL (unusual for them) and they went out and fixed it through a transfer (center from Alabama) or two. In all fairness, their OL didn't have a lot of experience in 2023 - they do now.

That OSU team is loaded at every position group. If OSU hadn't got in their own way yesterday in the 1st half, the score could have been far worse then 35-7 (a misleading final outcome)

The worst thing that could happen is Iowa getting into the CFP or high profile bowl game and get blown out once again.
Better to some meaningless mid tier bowl and win 12-7.

Kirk runs a fairly clean program but it certainly is not a top team anymore.
Saturday was an example of teams succeeding with a combination of offense and defense. The offense giving the team a chance to succeed. Iowa's offense does not give the team a chance to succeed and with Iowa's defense and special teams not up to the level of the last few years we're in for a disappointing year if you're looking for a 8 plus win season. We'll be competitive with the lower tier teams.
To be able to see all of these other offenses put up points with QBs who can run and pass, and receivers who can catch is evidence that a change is needed.
Sadly this will only happen with a new head coach who would bring a new offensive philosophy but keeping the same desire for a strong defense.
Sorry for the long post but it's crazy to look at the same head coach and expect different results.

yay, have a good finish to the season and get to play a Semi Professional team using a bunch of college kids and a coach who won’t evolve or change. College football is a fvcking joke and has been completely ruined unless you are a fan of the 10 elite programs.
Tell that to Vanderbilt (just beat #1 Alabama) and Minnesota (just beat #11 USC) and Washington (just beat #10 Michigan) and Arkansas (just beat #4 Tennessee) and even Cal, who lost to #8 Miami 39-38 in the last 30 seconds after leading 35-10 in the middle of the third quarter. Most of those teams are also-rans, but look what they did yesterday. And, especially, look at their QBs and wide receivers. These aren't blue bloods, but they put up points against the best teams in the country, played entertaining football, and pulled off major upsets.

Iowa played its usual KF-conservative, boring style and lost ugly.

That goes without saying.
We lost to Iowa State, so by rule we're not allowed to win the rest of our games.

We are required to be a bunch of inconsistent b****es and lose more games we shouldn't lose and finish the regular season 8-4 at best, 7-5 or worse if we keep strictly to the season rules following a loss to Iowa State under Kirk Ferentz.

In fairness. Iowa could have had 10 points in first half, if McNamara completes that early long pass to wide open receiver deep in O$U territory and they don’t miss that one field goal.

To watch a Jerry Kill aided offense put up 40 on Bama and iowa can only squeeze out 7 in garbage time vs OSU, is very disturbing.

Where in the hell will Vanderbilt be in December?

Well, even if we win out from here on, we are still going to need Oregon and PSU to both lose twice. Next week, OSU plays Oregon but after that maybe Illinois or Michigan can give them another loss??? Doubtful but possible. As for PSU their hardest games left are OSU and USC this weekend. Then we would probably need Illinois to lose to MN or Michigan .
I guess anything is possible but I think the best we can hope for is to just flat out dominate the rest of our schedule and hope the playoff committee takes the top 3 from the B10, because we might be in contention for that, provided we flat out dominte from here on out.

We’re not inconsistent. We’ve got the least talented wide receiver group in all of college football and a head coach that plays not to lose.

I don't know.....I watched UTEP against Sam Houston State the other night and that was a pretty f***ing rough watch.
