Match ups announced later tonight. I didn't realize the WNIT was 64 teams. Seems like a bit much.

Do they have the CBI, CIT and other type of tournaments like the men do?
If not then that is probably why...
Okay but do the women have those tournaments too?.......The CIT is a midmajor tournament which I kind of like.
The CBI is a joke, teams with losing records?!
Okay but do the women have those tournaments too?.......
Wow...what am embarrassment. Bluder has to go. Drake is better and is winning with Iowa kids. Heck even UNI picked up an NCAA tourney at large bid ahead of Iowa.

Yeah, her tenure has become stale.
How many Iowa women's games did you attend this past season?
It's been two years since I've been to a womens game. I do watch on TV when possible though.

Notice how ESPN takes a shot at the Big Ten again calling it a weak conference when MD and OSU were both top 10 teams. OSU might be 11 now but I'd hardly say the B1G was weak given that Michigan and Purdue were also tough this year.

OK, so you don't support them but rather criticize them. Got it.
That's a heck of a conclusion to draw. I definitely support them, but I am a realist. Bluder's tenure has become stale. She's had a nice career,but I think it's a plateau.
I followed the team, but didnt make it to any games. Assumng you did, what makes Bluder the answer right now?
For the record, I am not sold on Fran either, but he has a roster full of potential and is looking good for the next few years.
Michigan is in the WNIT just like Iowa.http://www.hawkcentral.com/story/sports/college/iowa/basketball-women/2017/03/13/hawkeyes-only-iowa-team-left-out-ncaa-tournament/99136888/

I assume your definition of Bluder being the right or wrong answer right now is different than mine for many reasons.
Michigan is in the WNIT just like Iowa.
Drake and UNI > Big Ten and Big Ten recruitingWow...what am embarrassment. Bluder has to go. Drake is better and is winning with Iowa kids. Heck even UNI picked up an NCAA tourney at large bid ahead of Iowa.
Shelf life......An argument can be made that it's time for a change but I also think an argument can still be made for Bluder. A lot of the players earning minutes this season were freshman and sophomores. Iowa was very competitive in several of its losses and the game slipped away in the closing minutes. Despite back to back WNITs, Bluder has a record of getting her team to the NCAA. She's been consistent and has a B1G championship and two BTT championships under her belt.
Drake and UNI > Big Ten and Big Ten recruiting
Good call.
So fire Bluder.Iowa throttled UNI winning by 40+ points. Iowa narrowly lost to Drake. Drake is having a special season.
Hawks vs Missouri St. on the 16th in Carver.
Likely will be announced Tuesday sometime. Think last year's WNIT game was on BTN-Plus.TV Coverage?
Barring an unforeseen scandal, Bluder will be around for several years unless she elects to retire or leave for greener pastures ( I believe Iowa is her dream job). Her recruiting results are on an upswing. Stale? On a plateau? That might reflect a poster's level of interest in the program, but I doubt it is shared by the coaching staff or Megan Gustafson, Mackenzie Meyer, K. Doyle or others on the team itself!
I guess two NIT seasons after 8 straight NCAA seasons is "stale".
Maybe we should fire her and hire someone to "get us to the next level". Amirite?
You are incorrect. There is a 16 team tournament called the Womens Basketball Invitational. Rice plays in it Thursday. Always check your facts before making statements. No, but even when the men did not have them the NIT was still 32 teams.

Didn't they just lose a bunch of seniors last year? Aren't they a young team like the Men's team??
I think she is doing just fine. She is getting some darn good talent coming into IC.
