Rankings are based on last year's records for teams Iowa faces in 2015. Iowa plays the second weakest schedule for a Power 5 conference team behind Duke. Along with Duke, Iowa is the only team to play 4 or fewer teams that had winning records last year.
So, unless the teams Iowa plays get a heckuva lot better (and with the losses of some premier backs to the NFL and a few new coaches in the Big 10, not likely) or Iowa gets a heckuva lot worse, it will be very difficult for Iowa to go 4-8. Stop with that. It also means 7-8 wins are not going to mean much once again because it will mean Iowa lost all their trophy games again or lost to some pretty bad teams.
Iowa wins 9 games and finishes in the top 25 for the first time in 6 years (and this decade) and you won't hear a negative peep from me next offseason.
