Hawk in Ohio

Ohio State: 86.5 points (121.5 max potential); 3 in the finals; 2 in the consolation finals
IOWA: 73 points (116 max potential): 1 in finals; 4 in consolation finals; 1 in 7-8th match

I know that it isn't in fashion to remain positive about the Hawks, but, Iowa can still make this pretty interesting. Without doing the math, it is not exactly outlandish to think that Iowa could get 3rd place finishes from Gilman, Sorensen, and Telford. Burak can place 7th. At least a 5th place finish for Evans is needed. Of course, Clark has to win.

Ohio State has EARNED their lead to this point with huge wins by Tomasello and Snyder. Iowa needs Courts and Jordan to both lose in the morning. Iowa needs Tomasello and Snyder to lose tomorrow night.

An Iowa title may not be likely, but, it is still a possibility. Let's see how this thing plays out.

Does Iowa have a chance yes but the way Ohio St has wrestled thus far hats off to them they deserve the ship. Iowa needs some changes in the staff Ohio St and Penn St are only on the rise and Minnesota isn't going anywhere meanwhile Iowa just seems to be running in a circle.

Why do you put Minny in such better regard than us? They are a heavy senior dominated team and they crapped the bed worse than us. To think we are still in contention with how are seniors wrestled tells me we have some good young talent.

Well, you're right a little bit. Minnesota is in tough shape for the next couple of years. As usual, they've got some good guys and good recruits, but they will be down significantly next year, and most likely for the next couple of years. They're young, and have lots of holes to fill, and they won't fill them as good as we do next year IMO. Meyer and assuming Grothus bulks up and wins a spot will be better than most anything the Gophers add. Tommy Thorn will probably be pretty good, but they need improvement from their returning starters worse than we do.

We've got 4 returning All-Americans and Brooks. They have 1 in Kroells, and qualifiers in Pfarr and Lizak, and they aren't redshirting a bunch of Finalists to my knowledge. They lose Dardanes, Dardanes, Ness, Storley and Schiller. We lose Telford and Evans.

So there is your one bright spot for the day. We should be able to stay ahead of the Gophers, if we don't we are in SERIOUS trouble!
