Is Bluder sending O'Grady a message?

Is O'Grady in the dog house? Has she been hanging out with Labas (bad joke from thread on fball board)?

I have no idea, but since her name wasn't mentioned by Rob Brooks or Jan Jensen on the post game radio show, I think maybe the dog house. Maybe a late to practice thing or something like that.

Not sure what # she is, but # 4 should have played all 4 quarters..........

I hope Addison doesn't have any physical issues. Strange she isn't seeing minutes. Bluder should provide info.

I was surprised that it wasn't addressed it by either Rob/coach Jensen or Tiffany/coach Bluder on the post game radio show. It does seem the staff decided we had a matchup advantage going small vs VT. Be interesting to see if we go that way vs. a smaller UNI team.

I’m hoping that we aren’t wedded to the same starting lineup all year finally with all this depth and different skill sets.

Anyone know, still, why O'Grady just got in for the first time against UNI?

McCabe was hitting. I'm excited about her.
I didn't get to watch the UNI game but I'm starting to think maybe Goodman just beat her out for the first sub in spot.

I can’t shake those comments Bluder made (twice) about how O’Grady never rly wanted to play the 5, she prefers the 4. She even explained in detail how Addi is just not an aggressive person. When Addi posted that Insta vid of her shooting 3s this summer, I was a bit flummoxed. I don’t wanna tell anyone how to spend their summer, but I wasn’t expecting that. Can’t help but wonder if her heart isn’t in her role and Bluder is either trying to motivate her or just moving on to whoever will make the most of their minutes.

When you look at Syd and Kiley play, it’s so obvious they want the ball. I don’t get that from O’Grady, she never really looks hungry for it on the block. FWIW I also gather that, based on social posts, Syd and Kiley have great chemistry with the rest of the back court…I don’t see Addi or Sharon hanging with the guards much tho.

If Addi and AJ end up riding the bench all season I would not be shocked to see either (or both) transfer for their senior year.

A little early to start the transferring speculation. Based on last year's, it's a wonder Iowa has enough players to fill the bench.

Way to early to speculate, I still have hope that Ogrady/Bluder/Clark can get on same page... With Ava coming in next year, I would not be shocked to see whover ends the year as the 3rd/4th option transfer out. Based on recruiting profile and play style I think Ava comes in expecting to play early.

has everyone asking about OGrady’s playing time actually watched her play this year. she isn’t playing as much because she doesn’t deserve the minutes.

Agreed. She has slow reaction times, lacks intensity, and has not done much when in the game(s).

I get what your saying, but I still think that the best outcome for the team overall would be if the light would go on for her. It sounds like in practice, Sharon stepped up and started asserting herself more on ofence, and thats why she started for a bit. Its also possible, that Sharon could improve by a bunch as she continues to get back into game conditioning (it seemed like her return from knee injury has been a lower process) and adjusts to the speed of the game. I think Ogrady finds it easier to play with attitude on defense, but really struggles with confidence and being aggressive on offense for some reason. My long term concern is that its easier to win games now using Stuelke at the 5, but there its going to bite us against teams with a true 5. One of the big 3 needs to step up, and its hard to improve on the bench.

I posted this a few times, but I really don't like Hannah at the 5. It's fine on offense, but she struggles to stay out of foul trouble when she has to guard a 5. She is too valuable to be sitting on bench.

For that reason I wish O'Grady and Goodman would handle 35ish minutes at the 5 with Hannah getting short stints. Or in the 2nd half if Hannah only has 1 foul, they could extend her minutes at the 5.
