It’s just a different, quieter form of grandstanding. I think his “overriding” desire is to manage this in a way that plays well for 2028, both offensively and defensively. Helping the people of ca is absolutely a strong part of that, but also a means to the bigger end.
Dude. I’m complimenting the guy. If you don’t think there’s a political dimension to this, and that the governor is some sort of angelic altruist, well, there’s probably not much to discuss. There’s ways to do good, and he’s doing well doing good.
He’s trying to do the best for his constituents in his job as governor. Who is claiming he’s doing this out of altruism?
Politicians who perform well usually benefit politically. This isn’t a new concept.
This might be a you problem, not a Newsom problem. His people are hurting and he is working for them.
