Is Prohm a good coach?

I think he is a good coach but he inherited a monster team and did nothing with it. That team should have been at least a final 8 team. He has had some bad characters that he has brought in to the program and it has hurt him. For whatever reason the program suffers from a lack of discipline which was the culture when he took over. Hoyburger did not care what the players did off the court. Prohm seems not good at making game to game or in game adjustments. That would really concern me if I was a cyclone fan. He has passed on some Iowa high school kids who I think would really help the team and the culture. That also would concern me if I was a cyclone.

For all the luster and 3 sweet 16, I think they beat exactly 1 power 6 team (UNC) in that time. Knocked out twice by the B1G. Very blessed by seeding that came from two factors; weak but way overrated basketball league and easy conference tourney wins located close to their home base. This resulted in beneficial seeds where you get a layup win and then a winnable game in round 2 before you really hit quality teams.

They’ve been good, but really helped.

First 2 years he inherited a great roster had nba guys like niang and morris. Especially his jr class with Morris and guys like thomas, burton and long. Kind of like Dr Tom getting Ravelings guys. He got all his tourney wins those first 2 years. He’s looking at now 2 of the last 3 years with no tourney (assuming they don’t this year) and now he has a roster that’s all his guys and next year isn’t looking too bright next year with Halliburton looking all but gone to the nba.

Last year had a talented roster and went 9-9 in conference and first rd loss in ncaa tourney. As for wiggington and Lard those are guys Prohm brought into the program.

sounds like a lot of iowa fans would fire fran to hire him

I understand your point but he had taken Iowa St to what, 3 NCAA Tournaments? Something like that. He knows how to coach. But when you have guys like Wiggington, Lard and others, those guys seemed to have issues. Those guys are no longer a part of the program and that has led to a drop off talent. Those 2 couldn't wait to get out of college.

He took over a top ten team, I would hope he could at least get them to the tournament. He interactive greatly with that team and then ran them straight to the bottom of the B12 within three years and has them poised to finish there again this year.

Yep, when this thread dies out someone else will start a new one about clone nation. Who's transfixed more, Hawkeye fans or Cyclone fans on each others program? It's a two way street and I'm thinking that some Iowa fans just can't leave it alone...pathetic!
Instead why doesn't someone start a thread on the up coming Iowa/Penn St game and debate on which team has a better chance to win...that makes more sense then rehashing whether Iowa State's basketball team is better then they should be...

Bro why didn’t you just start that thread yourself instead of posting that?

If we stop playing them in every sport I will ignore them. Otherwise I have to listen to way too many dipshit ISU fans who irrationally hate iowa so I will rip on them whenever I damn well please.

Go to your own board and you will see the longest lived threads all involve Iowa. Going to retire on the money we save living rent free inside your collective Cyclone heads. Oh, and nice effort out of your hoops squad the other night.

Few clone fans will be starting threads here until their FAM wounds heal. Even Clone fans know that was an awful loss that cannot be explained away. If you can’t beat sisters of the poor even missing your best player you should go hide. They’ve got that figured out.

Iowa is down 2 starters and their highest ranked recruit. If we could play FAM 10 times I’d guarantee 10 wins.

I don’t follow basketball as much but since my ISU friends always say they are a basketball school when Iowa beats them in football and wrestling I have to laugh. And when Pollard talks about being the bear but the main sports favor Iowa 17-3 over the last 5 years I love it. That basketball program for ISU is a joke. They have 1 good player and he will be gone. BTW we swept them 4-0 this year in sports and all were in Ames. Maybe Pollard will post another billboard.
