Is there anything Trump won’t lie about or attack as it relates to the 1st amendment?

I know how the MAGA idiot brigade will respond, but for those who are experts in abnormal psychology, is there some disorder that explains an egomaniac constantly trying to reinvent reality and accuse others of dishonesty when they are perhaps the most dishonest person alive?

I’m just trying to figure out if Trump really is this crazy, paranoid, and stupid that a psychological disorder could explain, or if he is somehow playing 10D chess that only makes sense to the cult of personality.

This is just weird.

I wish people would be more forceful.

“Nobody should pay attention to the lies and nonsense coming out of Donald Trump’s piehole on a daily basis. We are all dumber for having listed to him” said FCC spokesperson Harry Balz.
This is what I don’t understand. How is it so obvious to the rest of us how utterly insane, delusional, and demented Donald Trump is while so many others think he is a strong, charismatic leader who is to be idolized and worshipped?

Cults don’t suck in millions of people. This is just crazy to me and I am searching for something in psychology that could explain this phenomenon. People in antiquity, the Middle Ages, etc. didn’t have the benefit of a public education or mass media/communications technology to easily verify claims that are true or complete bullshit.

It’s insane so many people still buy into all the Trump bullshit. I don’t get it.

It's unprecedented.
Edit: There are posters on this board that are clearly not stupid people like Scruddy, PF and Northern that are totally bought in.

It seems to me that throughout the world about 1/3rd of the people want a strong man leader bully type. Especially when it includes racist overtones.

Its a perplexing human condition. Putin, Un, and Xi are beloved as well. People want to be led by a strongman that they feel represents them and their values without reservation or apologies for who they are or whoever doesn't agree with them. They all want to feel safe and secure in a world where they've been made to feel like they and/or their way of life are under attack. These attributes are what attract them to Trump and the lies and outrageous behavior are simply unimportant in the whole scheme of things.

We are a selfish and stupid society. Edit: I forgot angry.

As I read your question, this quote was screaming to me as a response. I may just be drunk, but there is also a lot of relevance here imo.

V: Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past, usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you, then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.

I wonder if he is a complete dunce that fell into this cult of personality that he now holds or if he thoughtfully orchestrated it.
It's his gift. He's an ignorant sociopath, but his gift is the con. He's a charismatic salesman that knows how to tap into what his crowd is looking for, and for this time and place that's a sense of grievance. Liberal elites have declared a war against Christianity and heterosexual males who have seen their cultural and economic influence wane sharply over the last few decades. They want it back and he's the vehicle for getting it back.

I don't think he ever thought he'd get this response. I don't think he ever dreamed that he would attract this level of attention and pure loyalty but once he saw it, he was all in. He's first and foremost a performer and a chameleon. It comes easy to him because he's shameless and he has no fundamental beliefs in anything other than himself. He knows his target and how to manipulate them. He's a brand. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Liberal elites?

I’m far from elite, yet I know that nothing in the Middle East would be happening if religion weren’t involved.

The idea that you are more and better than them because of your religious ideals doesn’t resonate with me.

Same thing applies here at home. The brainwashing instilled onto me from such a young age allows me to realize the effect it has had on cultures that have no reprise.

Growing up. Rush was almost a religion for me. His advocacy for the church and the mega churches.

Liberal elites? Or maybe just anybody able to see past the bullshit spouted every Sunday by hypocrites and assholes.

I kind of disagree. I think he is so narcissistic that he thought he would be universally loved right from the jump.
I don't think he foresaw having this bifucuated cult like following that he has now, or thought that he would have them under this much control. But he's going with it.

Trump was never a serious candidate in 2016, but he capitalized on the "outsider" label amongst a seriously weak GOP field of candidates.

Then he found a legion of followers as his cult.

Now he just needs to go away.

The FCC just greenlit an individual to buy 220 radio stations bypassing protocol. Not a group whose opinions should be taken seriously considering. Meanwhile Hillary and the left are actually calling for an end to the first ammendment. Low IQ thread is low IQ.

No, but Kamala is so unqualified it doesn’t matter that Trump lies and puts Americans citizens and disaster responders at risk. Personally I think he’s attacking the media to intimidate them for a second term. He will throw journalists in jail, and play it out in the courts and all the vote on principle people will act all shocked that Trump did what he told us he’d do.
