Is Woodbury the only clutch player on this team?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread started yet complaining about Gesell taking the last shot once again. Perhaps I missed it. But seriously, though, it is a head scratcher how many times he has taken the last shot.

He is at least smart enough to know the only way we can score a basket in the clutch is to blatantly foul on offense.

As that game ended I thought to myself all the fans who have complained about Woodbury for four years have no clue how much we will miss him next season. He easily rates as the most mentally and physically tough player on the team. I only watched the second half when I got home from work and thought we ultimately won the game on all the offensive possessions Woodbury kept alive with tipping the ball out while everyone around him seemingly choked in the clutch. Thanks Adam for staying mentally tough through all the fan criticism and giving us everything you've had as a Hawk.

Why would it suprise you? Uthoff couldn't get open late in a game if I was guarding him and I am old, fat and slow. Jok has missed his last several good looks late in the clock, what else are you going to do?

It shouldn't surprise me because I've seen it a hundred times before. It's just disappointing they haven't found a way yet to be a little bit better in end of game situations.

He was dominate on the boards in the second half and OT.

Gesell takes enough of them he's bound to make one, or not. At least it wasn't a brick so Woody could rebound it.

I'm pretty sure he is 0-for his career with basketball in his hands for chance for win or tie and he takes the shot. He did get a nice foul-steal of sorts and took a charge, so give him credit their. As far as dribbling out the clock with ball in his hand, fran is the enabler.

Clemmons redeemed himself a little. Gesell 0-8 is not going to get us a win vs Villanova

Glad to see the kool aid drinkers in full force. We look much better with Baer for Woodbury. Just because mike chucks up an airball from 10 feet and Woodbury was in the right place he is now clutch?

Unless this thread is completely sarcastic... The people supporting their opinion they've held and rationalizing woodbury's value for one timely layup need to simmer down.

I have a prediction for all of you. He will be a big part of why nova puts a beat down on this team. Nova has average height and they will chuck threes. Woodbury will be completely ineffective trying to grab long defensive rebounds, ineffective defending the three and per usual will go 1 for 7 from the floor. #baerforwoody

I don't consider myself a kool aid drinker but I make it a point not to put down players and I greatly appreciate Woodbury's hard work and what he has given to the program for four years. IMO he played a key role in getting the win today before the last play. I don't see that as rationalizing even if you have a different opinion of Woodbury as a player than I do.
