Isaiah Johnson-Arigu in the Portal

Who gives a fat rat's *** about a guy who never stepped foot into an Iowa game.

As far as I am concerned, they can cancel collegiate BBall entirely given the current "money is all that matters" environment. Yes, I am very tired of the lessons that young folks are being taught by supposed adults.

LOL. But please tell me that he at least didn't write a sappy open letter to the fans, coaches, teammates, dog catcher, etc, and express his deep appreciation for Hawkeye Nation, etc, etc, etc, and then conclude with a, "II am entering the portal". :)
I'm sure there'll also be a mention of God's plan for him in there.

You guys ragging on the kid strikes me as wrong. He was going to play but had to wait til next season. Fran gets fired and he wants/needs to move on. Good wishes to him, he was a very good high school player and I imagine he will be successful where he lands.
Sorry, but no. Not ragging on the kid as much as the stupidity that allowed what we are seeing to become the new norm. This is insanity. How can anyone actually be a fan of any team when you don't know from one year to the next who's even going to be on the team? I'd really love to see this whole thing crash and burn, and then hit the reset button....

Read the thread, somehow ppl are mad at the kid. I totally agree and have said on these pages, the system is completely unsustainable and will bring about the end of college athletics. You want to be mad at someone, JBO comes to mind

Exactly. How stupid is it to let a guy transfer TWICE in one year, never play in a game, and be able to just go to his third school in a matter of months and play. Unbelievable......
His first coach retired abruptly and second coach got fired. So it’s understandable.

So stick around and enjoy the ride. That was an option. He’s going to get a new coach either way unless he transfers to Penn. Maybe he met with McCollum and found out he wasn’t part of his plan. That would not be unusual.

There.... Ol' Doodle fixed it for you.

Let's just go ahead and abandon the utterly absurd pretense that any of this has ANYTHING whatsoever to do with "school."

Gotta love the hypocrisy of fans. A player changes teams 2 times in 2 years and they trash the player. A coach, much like Iowas new coach and the other coach they wanted, change teams twice in 2 years and they celebrate it.

If a player plays at Iowa for a year and then is offered a ton of money to play the next year for a better team, why shouldn't he take it?

Difference is the coaches have contracts that have to be bought out if they leave. Players don’t. That’s the problem with the system right now.

Well, if we get a head coach and they leave us after a year or two, just you wait for those fan reactions.

He should have thought out the ramifications real thoroughly. It seemed so obvious to me from the start that we would end up in this mess right away. It is destroying college athletics.
You must be the smartest guy I have ever heard of then. JFC! You ever asked for a raise in your job? I’m guessing not because you’re not worth it. It was meant for name image and likeness. Profit sharing from universities not from fans.

Well maybe if I type slower you'll see what I said. I'm not mad at THIS kid. Hell, I could care less, he's never even worn an actual Iowa uniform. No biggie if he goes, whatever. Its the damn system thats allowing this nonsense, which is what I just said in the post you commented about.....
