Hamas deserved this and more,.. Iran retaliation won't be any different from what they've been doing on a daily basis for years,... Short of a getting nuke, they don't have the capability...
Decades ago I was watching something on the conflicts between Israel and whichever adversary it was at the time. I asked my dad why Israel was so aggressive in retaliation. I still remember his response... "just look at the map, they are completely surrounded by those who hate them. So, when one of them attacks them and kills 1 of their people they respond by killing 100 of the enemy. They have to do this to keep their enemies away." Not sure he's totally accurate on his thoughts, but it seems pretty close to the mark and the reason they are still on the map.
