ISU 24-0 over Kansas at the half

I watched quite a bit of the game but stopped after 17-0.

Iowa State did not look that great in the 1st half but still go into halftime up 24-0. I knew KU was a bad football team but wow. They'd be lucky to be .500 in the MAC.

Kansas looks like the bad news bears
Yea its amazing, since the fired Mangino, they've been absolutely horrible. Maybe they should restock the buffets in Lawrence, and let the big guy come back and abuse a new generation or players. Just kidding........

its a start and for Campbell in his 2nd season to record a win over Texas and be 4-2 is pretty good,

at the end of the year for ISU to be 8-4 and bowl eligible would say a lot about the job Campbell is doing,

at least they are beating a bad team like a good team should, better up 24-0 rather than winning 7-3.

It doesn't matter how good their BB program is. If the big 12 breaks up no power conference will want to take on a school with that terrible of a football program. Their FB program being so terrible could ultimately really hurt their BB program and the school if there is more conference realignment. There FB program really needs to get it together and not be a complete joke. At least get to ISU level.

Agreed. Except I think you mean a win over Oklahoma.

They lost to Texas.

And somehow idiots around here think that this would be good for the Iowa program and help get rid of the fake ID reputation.

There was probably 20k empty seats. LOL at all those empty seats.
Hour rain delay, rain most of the game...empty seats is a laugh? You must not watch much football. Half the teams in the Big Ten have that many empties on a sunny day.

That many? After the biggest win in their history. Cyclones always spinning.

They are already 0-2 vs the MAC. They lost to Central Michigan and Ohio.

Can't blame anyone for not wanting to sit in the rain-especially
to watch Kansas.
Still surprised at the unsold tickets for the Penn St game.
Tickets at $95.00 was probably part of it.
Illinois game was 600 short of a sellout.
Being homecoming game helped.

Don’t worry, Randy Pete’s DMRegister article alreadys says “ISU is for real.”

Anybody think Pete would actually gamble that ISU hits 6 wins? “For real,” geesh, shit like this makes to hard to be happy for them, but I know he doesn’t represent all.

I quit watching second quarter. That was embarrassing football. But my main take away was horribly pathetic the crowd was. I get rain but it was 60 plus degrees. It made the Texas game look like a packed house and that attendance was putrid.

you sure do spend a lot of your time thinking about isu.

for a hawkeye fan that seems like a sad way to go through life.

just for shits and giggles lets say that Iowa goes 8-4 and wins their bowl game and ISU goes 8-4 and wins their bowl game, then next season you would have a matchup between 2 9-4 bowl game winners matched up against each other,
that could mean that the Iowa vs ISU would not be considered a lose lose game for Iowa. this would get more media exposure for Iowa on top of what they are getting with the end of 1st Quarter wave.

I like that scenario vs the constant lose lose perception that we have now.

considering how bad the offense looked vs Kansas vs Oklahoma they did rack up 368 yards passing and 448 total yards, maybe they are playing at the level of their competition,.
next up is TT.

Lol. Media exposure? From who, DMR? ESPN / Fox are not going to care about an Iowa/ISU game.

The only time playing a quality ISU team would benefit Iowa would be when it comes to playoffs talk/SOS.

A good ISU program will do more harm to the Iowa program than consistently beating a bad ISU program. If the muppets can’t see that, than there not much help for you.

Did anyone see the Iowa stands against Illinois for Homecoming? I saw about as much empty bench as I saw fans in the stands. It's not like Iowa's selling out, either. Iowa didn't sell out PSU for a home night game against the #4 team in the country, either. But let's beat up on ISU because they're playing better than Iowa right now? Anyone see what Rutgers did to the Illini while playing them on the road? They beat up the Illini as much or more than Iowa did. Iowa has some serious problems on both lines.

I get what your saying, but I think its a stretch to say that ISU is playing better then Iowa. Campbell certainly seems to having them all rowing in the same direction though. OOPS! Sorry wrong school..... ROW,ROW,ROW.......

Well, they're definitely playing better than Iowa in the first half the last couple of weeks. It cost Iowa against MSU and they were lucky they were playing Illinois last week instead of a real B10 team. I am impressed with what ISU is doing given their history. A little disconcerting because Campbell appears to be a pretty good coach. I don't like how that might play out on the recruiting trail in the future. But, uh, yeah, luckily Fleck is like all the other Minnesota coaches who have come and gone before him. ;)

Iowa and ISU are playing different teams and experiencing different situations. No way to say which is playing better now. Doesn't matter, anyway. The teams played. Iowa won.
