ISU vs KSU

Prohm’s seat is red hot but man that guy has caught some breaks. Last year doesn’t sting nearly as bad for the fan base with the entire tournament getting cancelled. This year cyclone fans are distracted with their best football season in school history.

I should say I don’t think his seat is hot with Pollard, but the fans are getting restless. “Red hot” is an exaggeration.

Exhibition game against a really good D2.

Losing a regular season game to a winless D2 squad is pretty terrible.
Shit, a winless D-2 team was just the half of it.

I’m pretty sure they had 3 players & their head coach out for that game.

They would absolutely demolish ISU with their intramural champs!

Odds are they'll have a new FB *and* BB coach for 2021-2022.

I do believe whatever confidence ISU had was destroyed last Fri. and it is going to take some time to get some back. Saw part of the game at the end and they were showing their upcoming schedule and they play WV-BAY-and a couple of what should be patsys so not sure if that will help or further hurt.
For sure the guys put a major butt hurt on them...

Talk about a bad conference loss. As someone mentioned earlier I hope we never have a game on ESPNU with who ever the color guy was awful to listen to. I'd take Beth Mowins over him in a heartbeat. ISU will be lucky to win 6-7 games this year. Looks like they have 2 easy non conference games left but then again we are talking about a team that lost to SDSU at home already.

Other thing is I know they have some transfers and new players but all their starters are upperclassman or least has been depending on if Prohm had the short G Harris start last night. One thing to be this bad playing a lot of freshman/sophomores but when 6 of your top 8 guys are jr/sr that is not good. I have a feeling Prohm will be back next year but you'd have to think his seat will be very warm coming into next year.

Iowa State basketball is bad right now. No question about that.

However, I think back to a little over a year ago when Xavier Foster committed to ISU the morning of the DePaul debacle. Most Iowa fans felt the Fran era was over.

I do think Prohm's days at ISU are likely numbered, but I would caution Iowa fans from getting too cocky.

They cannot afford to fire prohm, especially with Covid finances. Idk why Campbell would leave unless Ohio State or Norte Dame offer.

Yep. Prohm isn't getting fired this year and Campbell will likely be in Ames next season.

With that said, if '21-'22 is another Cyclone basketball dud, Mr. Nice is done.

Honestly after tonight, I'd say 2.

This ISU team is the worst team in the Big 12, might be the worst in the Power 5, and has a very real chance to be the worst team in my lifetime.
After last night I'm curious to see where those 2 wins are coming from. Watched part of OU vs TCU and both those teams looked better than ISU and KSU.

17 more games. They'll be underdogs in all of them. I'm just assuming with that many chances they catch some teams on bad nights and get 2. I could be wrong.

Problem is not all 17 of those chances are realistic. Even if KU, Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech, West Virginia has an off night they should still win by double figures. The off night needs to come from TCU, OU, OSU, KSU. So really only 7 chances. Instead of 17.

1. You guys are too kind to ISU.
2. From warmups through the end of the game, I didn't see a single smile on any ISU player's face.
3. Foster is better than I thought.
4. Young could pretty much score at will inside. He didn't get a shot in the second half.
5. Bolton does more harm than good most of the time.
6. If ISU doesn't improve, it won't win a game in the conference.
7. If ISU doesn't improve, the next two games will make the Iowa game look close.
8. I have been in better moods.
9. Good luck against the Zags.

LC, they are really bad. They are so bad. It isn't even fun to dunk on them as a rival fan. ISU had twice as many turnovers as rebounds in the first half. That shouldn't be possible.

Foster is a shooting better than I'd have guessed and agree better than I would've have thought so far in little I've seen from him. Little surprised Prohm doesn't give him more minutes. ISU's big problem is from 8 guys (4 in each class) they signed that would be soph. and juniors only 2 are on the team still. The lone soph. G Jackson I believe I remember reading is hurt and the other one from the Jr. class Conditt seems like he has regressed and struggling to get minutes. Rest of them in these classes are transfers and as we've seen with the premiere one and done schools like Duke and Kentucky schools bringing in lot of new faces struggling more than normal this year with everything going on. I have no clue how good the other freshman are but be interesting to see how much PT they get the rest of the year in what is looking like to be a lost season already for them.

I like Prohm. He seems like a good person who is doing things right. Bottom line is winning though. Losing Wigginton, Horton-Tucker, and Haliburton is tough to overcome. Probably expected LW + THT to leave early, but not Haliburton. I believe LW would be a senior, and THT and TH juniors this year. I hope they get things figured out
With all due respect, Cyclone fans have to stop talking out of both sides of their mouth. "We put guys in the NBA". "If our guys didn't go to the NBA, we'd be winning". Wiggington left the program because of Prohm, he chose to move on despite knowing he wasn't gonna play in the NBA. You'll lose Coleman-lands and Young after this year, and 75% of the minutes played on your roster are coming from upper-classmen. I don't see how things are going to get better next year, or the year after. The current freshman don't look the part. Foster is ok, but Murray and Pat both look better as Freshman, and Prohm isn't developing "bigs" at ISU. Foster's decision right now, looks foolish, but I wish him nothing but the best when not playing Iowa.

I can't remember seeing a more disheartened team for a long time. There were several minutes left in the game when Prohm called a TO and you could just tell the players had already given up. Not a good sign.

I suspect that right about now, Clown fans would like to have some of our "fall back" recruits.

Interesting comment about Bolton. I said PSU got better without him and ISU got worse with him last year.
Foster also better than I thought.

I don’t care what any of you say, Prohm needs an extension! To win only two games all year takes special talent.😂
