Watched a good share of this game. Not very impressed with ISU at this point. Very suspect team defense. MVS was arguably one of the worst teams in D1 basketball last year winning a total of 6 games. Jacobson was the leading scorer and Haliburton was the #2.

I was far more impressed with Iowa's newcomers (Fredrick, Pat, Nunge and Toussaint), than the new ISU contributors.

Rasir Bolton looks like the defense lacking chucker we came to know at PSU.

I think ISU will have to ride Jacobson/Haliburton to win games this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see a rebuild year for them much like 2017.

You’re more impressed by our newcomers who... haven’t played a game yet? Interesting.

I think this team will grow as the season grows. I was impressed with Haliburton and Jacobson. Griffin, Jackson and Condit are nice bench pieces. Nixon looked solid on D and has some decent offensive punch. Way too early to tell where this team is right now much like our Hawks right now. After watching a lot of the B1G teams today I don't think Iowa has to be great to place somewhere in the top 7.

I watched the entire game and it confirmed what I thought before the game: No way in hell should I draw any conclusions based on it. Unless they lost, which they didn't.

Having said that, I had been looking forward to seeing Grill, a pretty much unheralded freshman, based on what I've read and video clips I've seen. I was favorably impressed with him.
