I heard both lawnmowers and shotgun blasts (opening wknd of deer season) today…while playing golf.

Yep, I'm guilty. Went out to the garden this afternoon and pulled all my tomato cages and green bean panel then proceeded to mow it all off. The old tomato plants, cucumber vines, pepper plants etc. got chewed up and spread out.

Since IC has some fascist leanings against leaf burning I'm going to mow over some piles this afternoon. I'm sick of filling yard waste bags.
I thought IC did leaf pickup? CSB- NL had a gal run for city council back in the day, her platform was a leaf burn ban. She won, got the burn ban passed, and promptly resigned. She was in office maybe 3 or 4 months. City got proactive and bought leaf vacuums, which is nice.
They have ended curbside pick up. They take the vacuum trucks in and put plows and sand bins on them around Thanksgiving.
I'll bet you would have back in the day. Had to be like a wooly mammoth downstairs.
If you read the fine print in the city code, you are allowed to burn a pile of leaves provided they are piled on an aborted fetus...
