It Hurts Me To Say

Very athletic but has never worked to develop basic ball skills or an understanding of the game. I hope he gets a degree before he leaves because the NBA isn't in his future.

I don't think Europe is even in his future at this point. He might need to come back for his senior year simply because there is nowhere else for him to go.

I honestly feel bad for him at this point.

He clearly has no confidence right now.

It's sad. Hes the best athlete on the floor but he looks like a scared kid.

He disappears when he faces athletes as good as him and he doesn't get a friendly whistle. I thank him for his career at Iowa, but this year he seemed more intent on trying to prove he was perimeter player than doing the dirty work in the post.

I doubt Nunge is going to make big strides---but he has a lot of potential. Pemsl is a below the rim post player. Kriener is erratic. Garza is one of the worst defensive center in NCAA. Without Jbo, Baer, JoeW this would be a garbage team.

I'm assuming he can make $25K per year in NBA G-league. Europe he probably can dominate in post vs soft European centers--that won't help him develop his perimeter game. Honestly, he would have been better served to be specialist rebounding/defense/dunking but he refused to become that player.

He was so much better last year
How about at the end of his freshman season. He was a beast in the paint. His game has completely morphed into crap.

No doubt in my mind the staff told him they would allow him to showcase his NBA “game” if he came back. In doing so he (and staff) has went away from his strengths in hopes of becoming what he isn’t (an NBA player).

He’s only slightly better than Doug Thomas was, but at least he realized his skill set.

This is a little off this subject but if Fran is going to keep recruiting the type of players he has been he had better develop the best zone defense he can because man to man is out.

I completely agree and I don't think it is fair at all to the rest of the players on his team. Are we using them the way they should be?

At this point I’d take Doug Thomas. Better defender and rebounder.

I agree.

I'm not sure what's happened to him.

As a freshman he didn't shy away from guys like Tenn has. Now he looks totally intimidated.
