Disclaimer: I am being completely facetious here...

It's a generally accepted fact that KF-led teams do better when under the radar. Low expectations = good season, high expectations = bad season. At least that's how it used to be. So what's going on now?

Simple, when the roster does not lead to high expectations, expectations start low. Then people remember that low expectations lead to over achieving, so expectations rise. As expectations rise, a progressively worse season can be expected. Eventually we reach equilibrium at a mediocre season.

Similarly, when the roster looks good, we start with high expectations. Then people remember that teams with high expectations under achieve. As the lowered expectations spread, we should e expected to do better. Again, we reach equilibrium at mediocre. Now that everyone knows that we can expect the opposite of what we should expect, fate thrashes back and forth on the inverse relationship!

There's your Hawkeye humor for the day....
