Izzo should be fired!

Is this the same Izzo that has a national championship and 8 final four appearances under his belt?
Yep - the same Izzo that lost a 10 point lead with about a minute to go to you know who. Pretty sure this was started in sarcasm by those who are just a bit weary of the "Fire the Coach" for about any reason that can be thought of at the moment but can't take a minute to say anything positive when it's deserved.

Two threads on this so great. Long and short….B1G is very mediocre this year 2-13, 1 is pretty good but beatable and 14 can upset a team or two. Down year in the B1G.

Keep in mind though, that OSU team is dominated by all true freshman (top 7 or 8 class or thereabouts) and they're starting to come of age and figure things out. I believe they've won 6 out of the last 7.

Big 10 is the most average it’s been in awhile. Purdue was the “best of the best” and even they are beatable. Illinois, MSU, Iowa, Indiana, NW, Rutgers… etc… meh …

There is more parity and will continue to be as NIL and transfer portal takes hold. Where a team like TEXAS TECH was in the title game against Virginia in ‘19.

Basketball isn’t like football - where it’s Alabama, Georgia, OSU, Clemson … and then everyone else … although TCU broke into the playoff.

In today’s college basketball there is zero reason why Fran can’t be successful … meaning any one of 20 teams could win it this year. While Fran may not prefer the portal … that’s the only way he can reload for the pieces we lose. The days of building a program from the ground up - with fourth-year players … is GONE.

I know we missed on some portal guys last year … but Fran needs some major updates … guard play and big guys…

The last 3 years have honestly been pretty spotty for Tommy Boy. He’s 31-28 overall in the league, barely 500. And they’ve had some head scratching losses, obviously including our game against them this year. Any other coach who lost a 12 pt lead with 90 seconds left would have been crucified. Clearly his overall body of work is undeniable but they’re nowhere near the team they used to be.

Good.

and 10 Big Ten regular season titles (and 6 BTT titles)... you know....pretty much the same as an impressive string of consecutive "upper division" finishes. lol

Fran > Tom

Let's see what they do in the tourney.

A weak OSU team beating MSU does nothing to put into positive relief Fran's loss to OSU. 'Hey look other teams lose to OSU too!'. So what. IOWA shouldn't have lost to tOSU, as simple as that.
I wouldn't call OSU "weak" as they're very young and starting to come into their own late in the season. I do believe their run comes to an end today though as they don't have a solution for Edey.

They were also missing their 2nd best player - Zed Key. I believe he's out for the year. Jesus, with another top 6 or 7 class coming in next year, they are going to be a load and a half. They started 4 true freshmen yesterday
Sensabaugh will probably be gone hes already projected as a late lottery.

I expect MSU to roar back next year w most guys returning plus the #1 HS recruit(big guy from Indy) and #1 player in Illinois(PG Fears) joining Sparty.
Preseason top 5 I suspect.
Izzo not done.
