The ESPN company line has been that everyone cheats. I do not accept that premise. The fans of every school that did not cheat should feel wronged.
Only if you accept the premise that everyone cheats can you feel sorry for the assistant coaches who actually got caught.
I do hope that the head coaches at cheating programs pay the price, not just the assistants.
very well said.....and IMO the problem is cheating head coaches are good at hiring those they know will do the work (cheat) and therefore they know they can stay an arm lengths away from what they know is going on.
so previous to the FBI charges,,,these head coaches thought they were not touchable. Shoot all they needed to do when one of their guys got caught was say they didn't know anything.. fire them, replace them & carry on. Simple.
but now it has changed....called FBI Felony Charges. Not going to be so easy to carry on as usual. If they do...better be looking over your shoulder.
If anyone has been wronged it is the Head Coaches who do not cheat...who may even have been fired for their win-loss record...all the while trying to do things (recruit) the right way.
