Great post. Can't think of another Hawk who transferred that I wanted to see do better or have more success then Nunge. God speed Jack......
Exactly what I was gonna say.
Maybe Tyler Smith because he saw the writing on the wall, and nobody could really blame him for dipping to a better situation in Tennessee.
But I don't think there's a single Hawk fan out there who had any ill will towards Nunge for leaving and most even continue to root him with Xavier.
Now let's just hope the committee doesn't do something stupid and put Iowa and Xavier together for a 7/10 or 6/11 matchup, which I've seen mocked several times.
Yes, I wish nothing but the best to Jack. I felt the same way about Jake Kelly.
No one deserves the kind of hardship he has endured in just the last few years. I'll be rooting for X in the post season (unless they play the Hawks of course).
You can almost see it coming can't you? It would be the only game I'd like to see Jack get a goose egg the rest of his career........

Me too, he just chased the money - up here too so the rumor mill goes. Another reason why I wish Alfraud and Neal nothing but the worst.

Nunge was a great hawk, I got to meet him at the father-son basketball camp with my boys. He was all class and actually sat with us one day to eat lunch. Down to earth young man. Rooting hard for him!

Great kid and happy for him. In my fantasy world, he would transfer back to Iowa next year. I believe he has another year left?
He earned his Iowa degree, doesn't have a lifetime to pay it back like most normal students that live outside the state of Iowa. I think he did alright!
Pretty cold view. Multiple serious injuries and his father dying definitely aren't positive things that happened while Jack was at Iowa, even if they were no one's fault. If he felt that a change would help him and his family, I am not in a position to judge that.
Would have been a great presence on this team this year but life has a tendency alter your chosen path. Super happy he had a good year and saw success at Xavier but he will always be a Hawkeye.
