Probably not. DeSantis endorsed, but didn’t campaign for him. Rick Scott only made one visit. It’s almost like the party didn’t care. Still, not a bad night. The tide is turning?
Did Gen-X show up to vote?Probably not. DeSantis endorsed, but didn’t campaign for him. Rick Scott only made one visit. It’s almost like the party didn’t care. Still, not a bad night.
The tide is turning?
New Yorkers moving to Florida. Californians moving to Arizona. Those states had enough democrats to spare.
I haven’t seen the breakdown on that. R’s outperformed in numbers, but I’m guessing independents broke D.Did Gen-X show up to vote?
Only if they cut spending and pay more taxes. As much as any of us over 40 can complain about the youth, they are the ones that are going to save this country
Only if they cut spending and pay more taxes.
I don’t see it.
independents broke D
You sly devil.
Yeah she has name ID… that helps more than it should in elections.Wasn't a fan of Curry or Brown before him. Deegan is a Hazouri, and was on the news forever. I am sure that helped her.
Being a familiar face from tv seems like an increasingly proven pathway to elected office.
Trump, Lake, Hinson, deepen...ect.
Could be bad if Tucker Carlson and Hannity types went politics.
Wasn't Jerry Springer the mayor of Cincinnati before he was on TV? All the others got into politics after.Has it really increased though? Reagan, Arnold, Jesse the Body, and Jerry Springer come to mind. You're right, it could get worse with those extreme guys.
The newest thing is for Rs to pretend to be Dems during elections the miraculously switch sides right after they've been seated. This party really has no basement.

No, but other Rs have done this. Expect to see a ton of Rs running as Dems in 2024. They've exhausted what they can do with gerrymandering and voter suppression. Are you suspecting that Deegan is a Republican plant?
No, but other Rs have done this. Expect to see a ton of Rs running as Dems in 2024. They've exhausted what they can do with gerrymandering and voter suppression.
Does a former state representative and city council member not have name ID?Yeah she has name ID… that helps more than it should in elections.
There have been at least four as of April. This isn't a one off. It seems strategic.I'm not so sure about this. Only case seems to be that state rep in Maryland(I think it was Maryland but not sure) which was weird but from my understanding she wasn't just some freshman state rep, she had been a Dem state rep for a long time before. Seems less likely a Republican plant and more likely that something suddenly flipped her ideology.
They are one and the same. It might as well be called Jacksonville County. How does the political hierarchy work between the city and county with them sharing boundary lines? Does the mayor answer to the county commission?
See NC now in their state legislature. No, but other Rs have done this. Expect to see a ton of Rs running as Dems in 2024. They've exhausted what they can do with gerrymandering and voter suppression.
So that's 3 examples from like maybe 20 years of time. Now we have like half a dozen examples in the last 8 years.
Yeah, I said those were off the top of my head. There are plenty more. Al Franken, Clint Eastwood, Sono Bono are three more that come to mind.
I understand that but are there two separate governmental constructs? One for the county and another for the city? Is there both a Mayor and Chairman of the BCC?They are one and the same. It might as well be called Jacksonville County.
