Roll call. If you are on twitter, might want to let Jacob know Iowa is in the house.

Random thoughts...we have had several Cadet and Junior champs and medalists the last few years...yet not wrestling freestyle all year is a huge problem. Seems to me, the further one gets away from a competitive folkstyle season, the worse they do.

Warner with the pin!! Guy went for the throw and went straight to his back. Warner looked a bit gassed but it looks like he is amped up for his first match at worlds. Now that he got his cherry popped, he'll be good. Very good handfighter, nice snaps.

Three Americans on three mats...McHenry with the TF...really fun to watch. Cashman in his first match, catches a lace on the kid an TFs him....then Carr with the 10-2 win. So far, the U.S. is 7-0 on the day

So...Warner was up 3-0 in the first but got out hustled in the second by the Indian. He was gassing pretty badly and dependent on his snatch single. Didn't have the gas to drop down underneath and shoot for a leg. Was almost able to pull it out at the end...had the guy up and pushed him out. Good situational awareness and he could have tried to keep him in bounds and finish it for the wind. Good hand fighter, very physical...some Carver stairs will help him get to where he needs to be.

Warner gets pulled back in by the Indian. Have to hand it to the kid, has a non stop motor and TF'd the Polish kid in the semis.

Carr loses in the semis to the Iranian in criteria 8-8...another one of our guys who didn't know who held criteria.

Warner over Simon Oksaniani GEO, 8-2.

Warner now wrestles Jakub Szymula of Poland for the Bronze that the India guy TF'ed in the semifinals.

Great day for Team USA. McHenry and Arujau are going for the Gold & Warner and Carr going for Bronze. Cashman was one match shy of wrestling for the Bronze. Very impressive for Team USA!

Medal Round at 9AM CST.

Arujau loses to Iran 12-8. I did not like the calls at all and I still do not understand the final points that were scored. Neither does USA Wrestling Twitter.

Another great match. Go out and watch these matches in the archives. Great wrestling.

Vitali Arujau, Syosset, N.Y. - 58kg World Cadet Silver Medalist.

Jacob Warner over Jakub Szymula of Poland, 11-0 TF, 2:43. Three takedowns and some turns. Way to finish strong.

Jacob Warner, Washington, IL - 85kb (187lbs.) Cadet World Bronze Medalist.

Great Day 1 for Team USA. World Champion - McHenry, World Silver - Arujau, World Bronze - Carr and Warner. The fifth wrestler, Cashman, was one match short of wrestling for the Bronze. Amazing results.

Day 2 begins at 1AM CST on Sunday.

I will update my blog after the wrestling on Day 2 is complete.

Go USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recap:

McHenry-Wow. Kid dominated until the finals. Had a tough match against AZE but was able to pull it out in the last five seconds. Hope you have Flo to watch that match.

Cashman-Had a very good first match but than lost to the Iranian. Didn't get pulled through.

Vito-This kid is action personified...very unconventional and fun to watch. Pulls points out of no where. Think he's going to get taken down and all of a sudden, the other guy gets thrown for four. Some very sketchy scoring in the gold medal match imo.

Carr-Another very fun guy to watch. Very good on low singles. Lost in criteria in the semis...thought he had criteria. They him underlined and then they switched it at the last second before they blew the whistle with 10 seconds to go. Our coaches shouted at him and he chased the Iranian who took off and straight up ran.

Warner-Like CP from Flo said, he normally has a good gas tank but had issues in this tourney. Could have been the weight cut or other reasons. Another who thought he was going to have criteria. A Hawkeye personified...Very good in the ties and goes to the Russian a lot and has developed a nice snatch single. The Indian who beat him in criteria scrapped his way to the gold...beating Turkey who I had winning the tourney.

All in all, a great day for Team USA...we are in the lead with some of our heavy hitters coming in tomorrow (Yanni D, Gable, and RBY).
