When will Jake Duzey make an impact this season? Or did he lose too much time with injury to expect him to be a major contributor this year?

When healthy he is our best receiving tight end as he's a big kid that runs like a wide receiver. His touchdown against Ohio State two years ago was the most impressive display of speed I have seen from an Iowa tight end since Dallas Clark. It would be huge if he can get up to speed soon so that we can have him back for possibly the Big 10 Championship and our bowl game(s).

Well....it appears Jake is in as a blocker in the red zone. Which means 2 things.
1) He's a great blocker.
2) He may nut be running at full speed yet.

With the way Krieger Coble and Kittle are playing, not sure were gonna see a lot of Jake Duzey

I heard from one of the podcasts (morehouse?) that this particular injury makes it very hard to fully regain all the mobility that he once had and that we may not see him perform 100% for a long time. Depending on the severity, hope this is not the case.

I'm guessing the bowl game...if ever. Too bad. We could use him as a receiver.

I keep hoping for him to have a breakout game but it sounds like it is really hard to come back from that injury in the time that he has. It is too bad about Duzey and Ott's senior year.

Hopefully they get him to full speed by the Neb game and possibly B1G championship game. Coble has played great and Kittle as well. Still could use Duezy's speed in a 3 TE set. Question is, what happened to Outsey?

Since Kittle started blocking well, I would probably agree with you. Think that was his deficiency before that was keeping him off the field.

Yes. He also said that Victor Cruz had the same injury like a year earlier and still can't get back.
He basically said he is done and don't expect him to contribute much more than he has.

Perfect for the TE throwback ala Dallas Clark vs Purdue in '02.

Opposing D thinks, eh this guy has a banged up knee and is just in as a blocker anymore. The aging vet ain't what he used to be...

And then boom, he slips off the line and is wide open in the endzone for the touchdown. Hawks win the national title.
