James Daniels injury?

You must not have watched ISU vs UNI. Iowa should curb stomp the Clones with or without Daniels.
They actually played the run well until they got worn down. It was their offense that was the problem but Iowas defense was pretty bad the first game as well

UNI an FCS school averaged 4 yards per carry and ran 252 yards on them. What planet are you from again?

I think he will play. I have a torn meniscus and i have no pain. Granted im 36 and dont play D1 football.
"Its division 1 football!!!!"

I think we'll be fine. Welsh practiced there and as said above, between camp rotations and NW, etc last year we are fairly flexible there. Talked with an ISU super fan at work and he says the same thing about the first team D-line being above average but they are prone to wear down and very little depth.

Really, where is the LeGrand info coming from? Lucas is a senior, Keegan a soph so that may have something to do with it.

That is VERY interesting. Render probably saw action in every game last year, LeGrand ZERO.

Yeah, got to trust the coaches I guess. But you're right, as a RS F Render played in every game, and has the size advantage over LeGrand who basically have never played...

Gotcha, thanks for Morehouse tip. His Twitter and pre game stuff is great, a nice resource when looking for lineups, injury news, etc.

4 yards a carry isn't good. And like I said they did a lot better before they got worn down bc they were on the field so much. Most of the yards came from the QB

Wow. Legrand starting is a surprise. Must have not felt comfortable with Welsh at center?

Iowa is ripe for a take down. Hawks not a top 10 team at this point by any stretch, based on last week. Plus it's way too easy to dismiss ISU based on a comedy of errors last week that probably won't be repeated. As someone else pointed out, we've seen this movie before. One disrespected team has nothing to lose and a lot to prove with their new coach. The other plays cautious ball, probably hasn't really found itself just yet, and is missing two key players. Hawks need to play a very clean game if they expect to win.

This is the kind of crap thinking I can't stand!
Stop all the cautious error free football talk and simply take your better talent on both sides of the ball and ram it down Cyclowns throat! We consistently play down to these losers every season and I for one am sick of it!
Go out and be aggressive and blow them off the field early! That puts an end to any cyclown thinking that they can pull an upset.

The person it sucks the most for is James himself. I feel really bad for a really good kid. He's missing not just one or two of his own games, but one or two of the only games he gets to play, starting, opening holes for his big brother. Get better, James - and stay healthy, LeShun.

Or, maybe Iowa improves from last week, and shows some character in the process. We'll see.

This. Since the first guy is going off one game, a game where Iowa score 45 and really won pretty easily, why are you so afraid that ISU has made so many strides in week 1 to 2? Don't you think Iowa should be better too? I'd take out experienced coaching staff over 37 year old campbell any day

David, the fact that they were worn by UNI probably doesn't say much for them. If UNI wore them down...

As with almost every Hawkeye season I can remember, but I'm only 67, this year will once again boil down to how healthy we can stay. Last year we had some injuries, but people really stepped up when someone went down. I have to believe we have enough talent in our offensive line back ups to get the job done against ISU. We would have all been in more of a panic if we'd known Josey would not be available last week. If we were dealing with the loss of a tackle or another DE it would be much more of a concern.

This sucks for James, but if we can't figure out someone to take his place either at guard or center we're not going anyplace this year anyway.
