I think that might have been my favorite play of the game. I didn't know whether to shout, or laugh, or pee myself.

Overused word, but what swag! What confidence. Seemed like maybe he was trying to make a statement to his team, the opponent, and all the white-clad crazies. Love it!

Did you hear the groans in the crowd after that shot? That was priceless...it was like, where did this guy come from...and how can he have a green light to shoot that. Calhoun has no business calling the game...half the time you can't understand him and half the time he's talking non-sense. They should have been in awe of that shot, but they acted like it was just another 18 footer or something. Uthoff is money...MSU was putting on a little run in the second half, crowd getting into it, and he buries a three late in the clock. Magnifique!

I think no one expected Uthoff to hit one from out there, reminds me of Kingsbury shots. Calhoun kind of rambles on too much but he did give some love on Jok's smooth shooting and jump shots. Jok also gave some to his DM guardian for teaching him the jump shots at the Y, cue the Village People song....

I think Utoff was definitely sending a message. MSU was roughing him up and that isn't his game. He wasn't going to get bogged down in MSU style ball. Looking back, that kind of feels like the play of the game that broke their sissy backs.

I'm actually really enjoying Calhoun doing color this year. I prefer his subdued delivery versus put-upon enthusiasm. And the fact that he sometimes rambles just proves to me that he's thoughtful and not just predictably reacting to all the amazing things you can see in a D1 college basketball game.

Agreed. That was why I liked the general doing games.

I think they had just closed it to down 17-18 or something, so a little surge and the crowd was getting back into it, then a 30 foot 3 ball and.......... silence. That was frickin' SWEET!

Calhoun absolutely sucked. Marbles in his mouth most of the game. Get OFF the airwaves! The play by play guy was awful as well. They didn't know who the hell was in the game or making plays for Iowa while they were blathering on about some Michigan State highlight from 7 minutes ago. Had me wishing for Pam Ward for a bit.....................that's not good. ;)

Jarrod is finally understanding that he has the green light from Fran. Never had to convince Pete. Combine that with senior ball handlers and shooters coming off the bench, and Iowa is really tough to guard.

Loved that shot. Stopped and watched it 3 times right there. Watching the MSU fans just shrivel was priceless.

I agree, he isn't very smooth and does ramble but his insight is great. When the game started I was thinking he was going to be terrible, but he grew on me after the first couple of minutes

The man knows the game, but besides his mumbling there were also times where the other commentator asked him questions and his rambling answers really didn't answer the other guy's question at all...he just talked about what he was thinking at that moment about Iowa's dismantling of Iowa. He definitely has moments where his insight reminds of some of the great things Bobby Knight points out that the common man may not even notice about the game...but his delivery is often pretty bad.

What I found amazing is that he can go the entire game without taking a breath. Guy doesn't stop talking.

What I remember about that shot was that MSU hadn't let JU score much up to that point. It seemed to me to be his statement that he wouldn't be taken out of the game, extending his range so he'd have to have some room to operate.

Uthoff's bombs are great.
What I appreciated last night, maybe even more than his long range shooting, was his toughness on the boards.
Would love to see more double-doubles from him.

Great shot and looked so effortless for him as well. He knew it was in the second it left his hand.

Fired up. :) Listening to his comments after the game. Watching his reactions right after we won. That shot was just part of the overall Uthoff package last night. And, I know it didn't amount to a great shooting night from him. But the effort, overall. The attitude. You know, every action movie, or at least every other one, has this scene:

Actor is beating the $%^% out of someone. His buddies pull him off. He says, "Thanks, I would have killed the guy."

Last night was Jarrod's, "Thanks, I would have killed the guy.", moment. Not just him either, our whole team is playing with that chip on it's shoulder.

Like that song, "You gotta fight, fight, fight for Iowa....", seems the team kind of waved folks off and said, "We got this ."

Stephen Hawking thanks for the link to MSU game . Would love it if you could do the same for future games. I'm having issues seeing the games live in Cape Town South Africa, but liked the link to watching it later. Much appreciated if you could do so. I am listening live but not getting the video here. Thanks to you or anyone else it was great watching.
