Jay Norvell

Stoops has now fired two of his former Hawkeye teammates from his staff--Bruce Kittle a few years back and then Norvell.

In a BIG special about how Hayden rebuilt Iowa football, there's a scene where Norvell voices his amazement about Fry trudging thru the Wisconsin snow to make a home visit on time. It's one of the more sincere statements of appreciation I've seen, and it always leaves the impression that Norvell became a Hawkeye for life upon that occasion. Maybe one day a big welcome back home!

I'm sorry. But when your offense averages 36 points per game, the offense may not be the problem.

Did you forget the crappy conference they play in? A texas high school team would put up 20 against most of the little 12 defenses.

I would take Norvell over Davis anyway. Sorry but the GD experiment is over. The guy's only real success at Texas was with Vince Young, Rickey Williams, and other NFL talent at the skill positions.

Sorry but Iowa does not have that, he has not brought his "texas" pipeline to Iowa, so I say after this year cut ties with him. He has not shown any improvement over Kenny OKeefe. The 3yd slant/out route is not getting it done. Also we do not have a "spread type" QB on our roster. I love the 3rd & 4 spread formation. Sorry but that ain't gonna work and we are not a zone read team.
