jay scheel

Not sure if he played or not, but this is from KF's post game presser:

Q. Jay Scheel wasn't dressed today. Was he injured?
KIRK FERENTZ: He fought a little bit of an injury situation, so that set him back, but he's healthy now, and he's a young guy. I was reminded of that the other day. Disappointing he missed some time, which obviously slowed his progress, but he's a really young player, great attitude, great young man, so he'll start working forward here.

Way to go Kirk. You took jabs at CJ most of last year also. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another case of better players watching from the sidelines.

Hope Scheel gets well and can get back in action. There is speed at WR. Dubuque's Riley McCarron (hurt last year) who is in the two-deeps was the Iowa champion in the 100- meter dash in high school.

Reading through this thread as to whether Scheel did or did not play is like a debate with a conspiracy theorist: the target evidence is always changing.

Today is not a good day for that.

A little off the subject...but the fake field goal and on side kicks are plays used in games where a team is trying to win. That, also, would be news to our head coach.

Uh, we did try a fake field goal? Not sure what the point is besides a random cheap shot at Kirk. Since he tried a fake fg, does that prove he was trying to win? Did he receive the news?

What a bizarre thread.
Only wierd if you don't understand what this thread was all about.

We won last week comfortably. The backups got playing time. This against a team that many around here knew we would struggle with and some went as far to say we would lose to.

This thread is so they can be pissed off about something. Jay Scheel played or not played is not the point. This is what they are clinging to for their bitch festival this week. Personally I was impressed that this didn't turn into a Maurice Flemming week after he struggled in mop up duty.

God help them if we beat Iowa State easily tomorrow. I can't wait to see what they will bitch about next week if thats the case.

My favorite of all time was 2 years ago when iowa won a game easily. They complained for 2 weeks that Rudock could have thrown to CJF for a TD but he didn't because he walked into the endzone untocuhed. This went on for 2 weeks and it was hysterical.

Which brings us back to the main point......Did Jay Scheel play or not and if not who was this imposter wearing a number three jersey?

I don't know. The coach says he didn't dress so I would assume he knows more than the posters here. Let me clarify. KF didn't actually say he didn't dress. A reporter said jay Scheel didn't dress today, is he injured? Then KF said ya we were being cautious.

There was a number 3 but his arms look much darker than Jay Scheels. Hope that isn't racist. :) Unless he was wearing a shirt underneath his jersey which basing off the temperatures I was hearing about I am guessing was not the case.

Maybe a walkon. Ronald Nash maybe.

Of course Jay Scheel is out best WR. He didn't play. Duh. If he played then we would have to look down the roster and see who is better. It always seems to be an underclassman that never saw the field. Andre Harris maybe.
