Exchanged some text messages with Iowa running back commit Jaziun Patterson about his official visit to Iowa on October 9th and the addition of Kaleb Johnson to the Hawkeyes' recruiting class since then.
Here's what he had to say.
On the official visit:
"It was amazing," said Patterson. "What really stood out was the crowd - it was electric. I had a good talk with Coach Ferentz and hung out with Tyler Goodson and Leshon Williams after the game and got a chance to participate in the after game dance party in the locker room. It was a lot of fun."
On the other recruits in town:
"I got to meet Kyler Kasper, Xavier Nwankpa, and Kaleb Johnson," Patterson said. "We hung out after the game as well. I feel like we could build a strong bond down the road."
On Kaleb Johnson and his conversations with the coaches:
"Coach Betts said he wanted to take two different types of backs this year with different abilities," said Patterson.
What are those different styles?
"He’s a bigger back, like a third down conversion back, and I’m an every play, versatile back."
Patterson is still on track to enroll at semester at Iowa in January of 2022.
