iCYMI:

Our 3-point God has been riling up some salty Cyclones the past few days. I was genuinely concerned the most about Jbo leaving, and transferring to a school like Duke. However, with this recent barrage, my gut instinct feels much better. If he returns next year with Luka this team will finish in the top 10, and compete for a national championship.

Why would JBo, who happens to be chasing the B1G record for career made 3’s, transfer? Plus, many pundits have Iowa in the Top 10 to start the year. It doesn’t make a bit of sense to even be worried about such a thing.

He probably gets tired of the moron, fans of lil bro sending him
garbage from Lames. #gohawks

The attitudes on this Iowa team are awesome and something many of us have hoped for. CMac, Luka, Joe T, CJF, JBo . . . these guys just will not back down. Combine those attitudes with the talent and experience the Hawkeyes have coming back next year and anyone who doesn't have Iowa in the top ten and favorite to win the Big Ten ain't payin' attention.

BTW: Why anyone ever would have thought JBo, from Marion, a kid whose dad quarterbacked the Hawkeyes to a Big Ten title and the Rose Bowl, would grad transfer amazes me. He ain't goin' anywhere . . . except to the Big Ten title and the Final Four, and he'll be wearing an Iowa jersey when it happens.

You do realize his older bro, who has the same dad, had an Iowa offer and chose to go to Wisconsin....right?

I'm may get lambasted for this, but here it comes...

Georges Niang did the same thing on Twitter a few years back and was labeled a d-bag, etc.

I didn't have a problem with Niang doing it then, and DON'T have a problem with Bohannon doing it now. If fans (from either school) are dumb enough to criticize players on Twitter, this is what you get.

I'm sure Cyclone fans are calling Jordan all sorts of bad names for his Twitter post, but loved Niang doing the same thing.

Both Niang and Bohannon can back it up.

Social media is dumb.

I agree. Social media is dumb. That is why I like Ferentz's approach and think it is brilliant for college athletes. I know some college kids don;t like it and I have no doubt it might have even played into some potential recruits criteria when choosing between Iowa and other schools. However, it prevents the college athletes with dealing with the nitwits that go after them.

maybe I’m not understanding the situation but didn’t an account run by ISU fans start this? Barstool ISU mocking his shooting performance?

Stender - I think you are correct. Now Niang has gone next level still posting about Iowa while in the NBA. Which is weird. Don’t see a lot of Iowa NFL players posting on ISU. But whatever. The JBo transferring was started by that Twins guy who has 60k posts on Iowa and every recruit or player “hates” Fran’s kids so will never come to Iowa or want to transfer out. Same song and dance with that nut who not only follows Iowa recruits (kids) but their parents on social media. No wonder his wife left him. Jeepers.

That guy is a giant tool, but there is movement to that rumor. I’ve heard it from multiple people close to the situation. I know he was a Duke fan growing up, and know that him playing on a top 5 team with high-chances of winning a ship helps his professional career (everyone loves the white shooter on Duke.. they typically get drafted). But, I’ve also heard he’s interested in entrepreneurship & wants to start some local IC-businesses, which people have advised won’t go as well if he transfers. If Luka stays, I believe he stays.

Nice post. I concur...when I earlier read about some rumors of JBo and a grad transfer I thought WTF are people thinking!

LOL - Niang is and was no JBo quality basketball player.

I love JBo's attitude. Much of the team now plays with an edge that had been missing for a long time. I'm hoping to see a little more attitude from Weesy and Nunge than we have seen. If everyone comes back and Fran finds the right rotation, this team has the potential to win a LOT of games. I want to keep my expectations real, but a B1G championship is not unrealistic.

Lots of firepower but need to defend consistently and crash the boards better.

Imagine if JBo was healthy in that game?!! His two for 12 would of been close to 8-12 and Iowa breaks the century mark. Be happy Clone fans you only lost by 16.

You can watch an edited version of that game on YouTube, which I do when ever I get feeling a bit down by the way the season was cut short. Love how we put our foot on their throats right from the opening tip and whenever they crept close, we crushed their hopes by going on a run of our own.

Don’t compare Jbo to George’s. Jbo is still a current college student & Hawkeye.. Niang plays in the NBA and still tweets at 16 year old Hawkeye fans. Niang is a legitimate douchebag who cannot let the past go because it’s the best he’ll ever have it (which is bizarre, cause, your like, in the NBA dude)

doesn’t Lazard still do this too?

It was good. Iowa State as it turns out was awful. Kudos to the Hawks for keeping them down.

Pfft, social media can't be dumb.
Its the other part of the equation that is, you know the human part.

Love it when JoBo trolls IA State fans!
