I think he did, but certainly it was a hypothetical. I do believe he is somewhat impressed by what is going on at Iowa right now, at least some optimism is warranted.Did I hear him correctly to say during the game said Peter Jok could be Big 10 player of the year if he leads his team to the Big 10 championship? I guess it's true, but what are the chances of that?

Settles does a really good job during the game or in studio I think, and it has nothing to do with the fact he is a Hawkeye. He's damn good at it, IMO. (heck of a player at Iowa too - the last Iowa Big Ten Freshman of the Year apparently as well)
When he first startedwith BTN he was a sweaty ULTRA loud talking mess on camera...he really has come a long way and is quite enjoyable to listen too.

I think you have to take it in the context it was given. A combo hypothetical if you will.To the original point, he absolutely did say that word for word. I also found that sort of funny since there is about a .01 % chance of it happening.
Settles is definitely a homer that's for sure.
Well, to be fair, when you spend approximately 8 years playing for a school you develop some loyalty
I like Bardo also.Yeah last night he was a homer. However, it was okay to be a homer because it was B1G vs outsider. I think he does a good job. Some stuff is kind of fluff because he has to keep talking, that is his job. Hopefully he can get more gigs on B1G network. I also like that Bardo former Illini.
I have always liked Jess Settles and when he played for Iowa (six years?) he was my favorite player back when we had a lot of Iowa kids playing for Tom Davis. He was the player the other team's fans loved to hate, he had a lot of personality, and I absolutely loved it when he guarded the out-of-bounds plays. He was always just on the edge of bending any rule he could to help Iowa win whether it was allowable, legal, within boundaries, or not. The refs were constantly "advising" him. One of the few high school All-Americans to come out of Iowa, and from little Winfield- Mount Union at that. (Also interesting that Shaun Morris, from central Iowa, was the studio commentator last night. Old Iowa high school star who picked Northwestern over Iowa.) ((and on the radio, Iowa and pro star Bobby Hanson (from Dowling) and Gary Dolphin, "star" point guard from little Cascade.))
I like Bardo also.
