Jets fire Saleh

Somebody will get a good DC. That’s why you don’t have the head coach be a defensive guy. Just pick up a DC from the head coaching scrap heap.

If you watched Aaron Rodgers final season with Green Bay how could anyone be surprised. Unless he was going to an absolutely loaded team. Built on D and strong OL.

The real dumpster fire is in Cleveland! Jets/Rogers are always “media-worthy” but the real shit sandwich is in Cleveland. There’s a good football coach gonna get fired because of a shitty qb and a worse ownership group.

And they are screwed for at least 4 years.

Hmmmm.

I don't necessarily blame their organizational disfunction at Rodgers' feet. They've proven over the years that they can be all screwed up no matter who the QB is. To me, the problem is (always has been) the owner.

No doubt. But Rodges doesn’t like him and Aaron gets what Aaron wants.

It's gonna happen.

They just dumped a Defensive HC. Not sure they'll pull the trigger on another? I think they just promote Nathan Hackett (OC, who Rodgers loves) and go from there. If Hackett does a decent job he stays. He was horrible in Denver two years ago. If not, you blow it up at the end of the season.

"Per multiple sources, Jets coach Robert Saleh was escorted out of the building by the team’s director of security, after Saleh got the news.

That didn’t happen, we’re told, when the Jets fired Saleh’s predecessor, Adam Gase."

Man, they straight walked him out the door.

You may have just nailed it there, sir. Probably bring in Davonta Adams too. If Rodgers can't make it work with his guy at the controls and his buddy coming in at WR, definitely time to blow it up.

They lost a good shot at getting out from under the contract when Watson’s latest accuser settled yesterday. Sadly a rape case is what the Browns are pinning their hopes on.
Man, there were already ~24 accusers when the Browns traded for Watson. I can't imagine their contract with him had a personal conduct clause that would have basically had to have been "You'd better not get a 25th!" - especially if he knew there could be others out there that could still come forward.

Any personal conduct clause in that contract had to be pretty crazy, like "You can't commit multiple murders!".

That was before he sucked. His personal behavior is more important now that he sucks.

I get it, but that contract was signed before they knew he sucked, and if he was in the position to get all the money guaranteed, he was also in the position to keep out any personal conduct clauses that could hurt him down the line. At least his agent should've been smart enough to keep all that out of the agreement, knowing what a deviant predator his client was.

I get you. I believe I heard that criminal charges would be the one thing that voids the contract.

I believe the contract clause said something like, is there anything else you aren’t telling is? Have you done anything else? Because if you have we can terminate this contract. This new allegation was unknown before he signed the contract so this one would be "new" and could cause the contract to be terminated.

It would not surprise me at all for them to terminate the contract anyway and make him sue for the money.

This guy was a clown as a head coach from his first day. The best is when he said he knew where Reddick was and that he was in great shape and should be there soon. That was 2 months ago. Just making shit up as he goes the whole time.

Figured Saleh was doomed after last week when he’d made a comment about Rodgers cadence after a few false starts in their game and then Rodgers pushed back on that.

Forget the exact quote.
