Hockaday had a solid game and I don't want to take anything away from him but his angles were a bit off today and his decision making at finding the holes wasnt nearly as sharp as Jewell's is.

What makes Jewell so great is the way he reads the game and how he communicates his reads on the field to others in the front 7. With him out the reads and communication seemed way off. Jewell is the X-factor for this D the glue that holds them together and the voice that leads them to success. Iowa missed him today.

Jewell was missed. There is a huge difference between him and Hockaday. Hock looked slow, couldn't get off blocks and was lost a few time in pass coverage. Got to find a back up for Jewell.

One way or another the D was off a little yesterday and Jewell was the missing piece. When all is said n done, this year's D will be better than the 2015 version.
