Joe Biden: What Americans should remember about Jan. 6

There’s not even the slightest question none of the rioters would have even come close to breaching the Capitol, had their not been covert government plants urging them and goading them.
And, the Capitol been properly protected and guarded….which is exactly why they turned down the use of the National guard and literally did nothing to stop an unarmed mob of overwhelmingly first time offenders wearing buffalo hats
What a fantastic (conspiracy theory) story.

Ah. To be replaced by the spry 78-year old who clearly doesn’t have any diminished mental or physical abilities.

Happened everyday in many of our major cities during the “summer of love”
High grade fireworks, ice bottles, lasers, Molotov cocktails and baseball bats were handed out.
Businesses burned down and lives ruined
Sticking with this nonsense, eh? How many right wingers were arrested that summer? It’s more than zero. How many lefties stormed the Capitol on 1/6? ZERO. Use logic.

Covert? Trump was covert that morning?? Seemed pretty out in the open, what he wanted, to me.

Are you ok with trespassing, destroying property and assaulting police officers for the purpose of halting a government action?
No, and anyone who committed violence that day, should serve their term. But I am amazed at the hypocrisy of the left that celebrated the destruction during the riots the previous summer, most of whom got off scot free.

For most of us, 1/6/21 was one of the most horrific days in our great country's history for a lot of reasons. To downplay the destruction of one of the most treasured and important buildings in our country, or the attempts at interfering with one of the most important functions of our government, not to mention the lost/affected lives and financial cost of the ordeal, speaks volumes about anyone who downplays or defends what occurred.
You can't possibly be serious.

I don't think most see the two events as analogous. One was in reaction to a police officer killing an unarmed black man. The other with an angry mob trying to stop the peaceful transition of power.

I denounce any acts of violence and destruction of property, regardless of purpose. But that's just me.

That unarmed black man overdosed on meth and fentanyl in police custody.

What does being "black" have to do with it?

It was a protest by the majority and a riot by the minority. To categorize the events of that day as an insurrection is to be intellectually dishonest.
Here is what is not intellectually dishonest. If Trump had not lied about the election bring “stolen” those protestors would not have been there and people would not have died.

That “minority” was incited and encouraged to riot. If they hadn’t been lied to they wouldn’t have been there.

Speaking of unarmed people, why are you ok with the the death of an unarmed woman?

I don't know. I wish more of them would have responded accordingly, as they did with that traitor.

I love how the left when confronted by someone who disagrees with their propaganda is labeled by those dolts as a "Bad American". LMAO, the whole free speech and constitution just goes right over your head.

False, and the blatherings of an unserious person.

I have honest disagreements with people all the time. However, anyone who refuses to acknowledge the gravity of what occurred on 1/6 is a bad American.

I'm not sure there is something more crucial than the peaceful transfer of power as it relates to the operation and legitimacy of our country/government. So, yes, all of us who care about the country are serious about this.

As shown in this thread, a lot of things appear to be "right over your head."

At least you admit you're a bad American. I know enough of history to know it will not look well upon you and your kind.
To half of America, those non-violent protestors sent to jail for their beliefs are already heroes. Dissent and people protesting and holding our elected representatives to account are as American as it gets. Might have something to do with why their leader won this time.

Said every politician ever.
What was the proximate cause of those protestors storming the capital? What do you think a reasonable person would believe was the cause? They thought the election was stolen. Why did they think that? Because Donald Trump lied to them and continued to lie for the next four years.

Donald Trump was the cause of those riots.

Again what a bunch of pompous, pious horseshit. This country was born in revolution, the Jan 6th events came nowhere near approaching insurrection. There were no weapons present. The people protesting called in to question the fairness of the election and rightfully so.

There were lefties who stormed the Capitol on 1/6 btw. Allow me to once again introduce:

John Sullivan, known leftist antifa who was paid money by cnn to supply footage from inside the capitol

Primarily due to our poor handling of the voting process during covid...

"The people protesting called in to question the fairness of the election and rightfully so." Said no reviewing court/judge or legitimate fact-finder, ever.

Also, in our system, you don't "call in to question" by destroying the Capitol Building and harming people.

The courts never heard any of the cases, because those bringing the suits lacked standing. You are correct no court wanted to get involved.

Yes, let us lock up all the grandmas in the Capital that day, better yet, let's try them all in the District of Columbia where 95% of the potential jury members are Dems........that sounds fair. This election was in part an indictment of the lawfare and biased Justice Department. One of the many reasons dems are out on the street.
