Joe T still making us proud. He was called for a technical during the first half of tonight’s game against ISU. He was doing some chirping after a basket.
Kind of an ugly game so far.I think west Virginia is not getting the calls tonight. Did you see the west Virginia kid get kicked in the head and have to be carried off the court?
Its ok, Joe.Joe T still making us proud. He was called for a technical during the first half of tonight’s game against ISU. He was doing some chirping after a basket.
I'm pretty amused by how bad the flow is.This is insane!
We have not hit the under 12 timeout yet:
Iowa St. has 9 fouls
WVU has 6 fouls
He certainly isn't getting the minutes he wanted at West Virginia.I wish Joe would have stuck around. He definitely would have helped this team, and he is averaging double digit points coming off the bench. HIs defense would have been a big plus. He and Ulis paired up for some amazing pressure at times last season.
Joe just couldn't figure out how to shift down a gear when needed.
He is getting 5 minutes more a game than any year at IowaHe certainly isn't getting the minutes he wanted at West Virginia.
He's the go to guy at the end of this game. Up 1 with 10 seconds left. Joe going to the line fir 2 ft. Just made an amazing defensive play.He is getting 5 minutes more a game than any year at Iowa
He hits both ft. Joe T just won the game for West Virginia!!!! So happy for him.He is getting 5 minutes more a game than any year at Iowa
Yep - big time plays at the end there. Sure would like Joe over Ulis all day every day.He hits both ft. Joe T just won the game for West Virginia!!!! So happy for him.
Joe was the hero tonight. Wonder if he sat because 2 foul jail after his tech.Yep - big time plays at the end there. Sure would like Joe over Ulis all day every day.
You don’t think he would have gotten that at Iowa?He is getting 5 minutes more a game than any year at Iowa
He supposedly told Fran that he wanted 30 minutes and a locked in starting job for him to come back. Not sure how true that was, but it was parroted around this board quite a bit last spring. So not sure if 23 minutes and coming off the bench was exactly what he was looking for, but schematically I think Huggins was a match made in heaven for him. I hope he's happy either way and I'm glad that there doesn't seem to be any bad blood between him and the program. He is getting 5 minutes more a game than any year at Iowa
and it will work out for them in the end and in the tourney.I don't watch ISU BB. Besides Iowa, maybe 10 min all year. In the time I have seen, they never stop fouling on defense, reaching in and grabbing, almost like the Izzo approach that the zebras will get tired of calling fouls and look at a discrepancy if they pile up. Is that how they play, or have I just need seen enough?
probably had nothing to do with the West Virginia players who had fouled out.Joe T carried WVU to the finish. He got blocked and then missed a wide open 3 badly near the end of the second half. Fran would have have benched him. Huggins let him stay in and Joe rewarded him with a W.
Typical ISU game, particularly on the road where they don't get friendly-calls (e.g. 28 fouls at TT, 23 fouls at Ok St.)Typical game against a Huggins-coached team. The game following was halfway into the first half before the Iowa State -WVU broadcast finished. I expect the Cyclones win by double digits in Ames.
I haven't seen that many fouls in a game for a long time. Jones fouled out and realistically could have fouled out twice. Definitely are overly aggressive, slapping, pushing, moving screens, plus flopping. Terrible to watch. I was only watching to see Joe T a little bit but got sucked in. I don't mind enjoying an isu loss once in awhileI don't watch ISU BB. Besides Iowa, maybe 10 min all year.
