Just talk of our 2018 recruit please. :) Did I read somewhere that Wieskamp had mono earlier this summer and lost about 15 lbs? I think I did. If so, it is remarkable to me he is still playing at such a premium level!!!

I think he said recently that he did not have mono.

it is nice to see Fran wrap up in-state recruits like this, unlike Dr Tom, Alford and Lick, who lost way too many to Roy Williams and Kansas/North Carolina =)

I would disagree that Tom Davis lost too many in-state recruits. Other than Raef LaFrentz, I can't think of one significant Iowa kid he lost out on. In fact, a lot of the grumbling about Dr. Tom in his latter years at Iowa was that he relied too heavily on Iowa kids and didn't reel in bigger fish.

You seem to keep beating this same old drum. We get it....You weren't the biggest fan of Dr. Tom. For my part, I generally quite enjoyed his tenure here as the Iowa basketball coach.

Whether you fault him or not, Hinrich and Collison were headed elsewhere.

How is he doing in camps lately?

Playing AAU games. In Vegas recently and a comment from Bossi said he was playing up to his #35 ranking. One can also check out his stats on the Barnstormers site. Very impressive as are Hauser and Green's stats.

He's played very well for suffering some setbacks in June with mono, bad back and ankle sprain. Getting back into shape now, Joe should have a big winter. He really is a silent assassin, like everyone calls him.

Would much rather see talented kids from all over the Midwest that help Iowa win a Big Ten Championship. All those Tom Davis years with so many Iowa kids and he did not get it done. This Iowa kid favoritism is for the birds. If they are Harrison Barnes, Marcus Paige, and Raef Lafrentz types bring them on board. Otherwise, go for out of state talent.

And Raef and his family got paid off

It wasn't me this time

sorry, deleted one of mine. all i can say about Joe is that I saw him at Xavier late last summer and his team got drilled and he looked exhausted. He looks like he has a large frame to grow into and some obvious basketball skills for someone so young. Does anyone have some current video on him from this summer?
